Any one face this issue with the tax being computed incorrectly(so it would seem). In a nutshell, the Sales tax was computed as 18% instead of 9% for a CA zipcode. On checking with sales rep, got to know that that tax amount is on the entire purchase amount before the trade-in promo is applied.
  1. Subtotal$761.48
  2. Shipping$0.00
  3. Taxes$134.22
  4. Total Savings$1,216.45
  5. Promo Code - YOURGALAXY1RESERVEWA$250.00
  6. Bundle Discount$77.95
  7. Promotional Discount(s)$70.00
  8. Bundle Discount$195.00
  9. Workplace Discount$73.50
  10. TradeIn Discount(s)$550.00
  11. Total$895.70

Order Received email shows the same amount as shown on the invoice above.
But rep told that the order confirmation email will provide the correct sales tax. But what concerns me is the amount charged to card is this exact amount with the higher sales tax.
I've never faced such an issue - but then again I've never done a trade-in. Can someone confirm this is not a bug but a norm?

Even in the warehouse for a few MONTHS. Samsung does not ship them now because the RELEASE date is January 29th 2021.
Your logic doesn't make sense. Then why does everyone receive them a few days EARLIER than the RELEASE date? As stated, just ship them when ordered.

Blame your lovely state for that. Most states, only tax on price AFTER trade in. I'm sure that's about to change though. GOVT, is bleeding $.

suzook is correct. As I understand it, some States see the trade-in as an advanced "rebate." Imagine if you bought a $100 printer at Staples with a $20 mail in rebate. Staples would charge sales tax on the $100. Same principle applies here with these Samsung purchases. In the end, it is individual States that dictate what amount is taxed. I have been in States that charge tax on the full amount even after applying coupons.

The S21 and S20s are getting assigned 2 IMEIs, but Samsung / carriers are blocking release by sw for some reason.

You can verify there are actually 2 IMEIs on the phone via the Service Menu, accessed via the Phone by Google dialer (download from the Play Store, will not work via Samsung's native dialer).

Dial *#*#27663368378#*#*
and follow options

[1]SW VERSION
[1] READ IMEI
Thanks for the info .

How is your order $570 without trade in ?
Someone here said to call in and cancel, I ended up calling in to straight up ask for the 10%. Gave some reasons to justify - for example, TMobile variant had a $100 discount on day one but was then removed for day two, then they raised the trade in value by $100 (from $700 to then $800), for some phones but not others. So the rep cancelled my order and reprocessed it. Put me at the back of the line and now I don't get my phone for a month.

Thanks. I can't really complain about a $600 discount plus an extra $260 credit for accessories, I guess.

What are you guys doing for insurance? Samsung screens are pricey to fix. I've been happy using Upsie with an S7 Edge, Pixel 2 XL, S10, and S20+. Had multiple screen repairs and never an issue. All done locally. Much cheaper than carrier insurance of SquareTrade.

2-year plan for S21 is only $105.99 with $75 deductible. Goes up some for S21+ and Ultra.

PM me for 10% discount if interested.
Wow, I don't understand why people pay for that (unless you are with Verizon, see below).

I just use the free insurance you get by paying your cell phone bill with either a no annual fee Wells Fargo or Barclays uber card. It automatically covers all of my phones that are on the account that I pay with the card. No, you don't have to have used the card to purchase the phone.

I just did a $200 screen repair job for an iPhone 11 at an Apple store and got back the full amount I paid, including tax, minus $25 deductible with little hassle.

I don't think this works on Verizon though because you can't auto-pay from a credit card.

Max is $600/claim and 2 claims in a 12 month period. Theft/loss puts you in some gray area of coverage and since the phones are so expensive now, if it is covered, you wouldn't get the full amount back, but I have no idea how upsie, squaretrade or carrier insurance handles that.

I didn't realize that that controller came free with the normal S7 I thought it was only the plus. think I could do a chat with Samsung customer service and get them to send it to me? Is it even worth it?

Tried cancellation through chat. They offered immediately to cancel it. Not even a hint of a discount/10% refund/promo code.
