I was told same, but they asked me to contact after it status changes to 'shipped'. Now they are offering promo code!
Can refund be issued in form of future purchase promo code?? Or I just happened to get a not so helpful agent?
yeah, you should try again with the original chat id, they are doing the refund, few got a $50 promo code but that was different(i mean it was not 10% thing).

Wow! I am really glad I ended up going with the Ultra over the standard s21 that I originally ordered. From these browsing tests, at 60hz the Ultra gets 1 hour 32 minutes more than the s21...but in Adaptive mode it gets 3 hours and 36 minutes more...kinda crazy

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (60Hz/Adaptive) 5,000 mAh 11:25/10:07
Samsung Galaxy S21 (60Hz/Adaptive) 4,000 mAh 9:53/6:31

The Ultra has a different adaptive range. It can drop all the way down to 10Hz depending on the content. I think the S21/S21+ bottom out at 48Hz.
For me, the Ultra is the only model where there is a clear YoY upgrade. It seems like the other models are pushing more towards the upper end of the mid-market as opposed to being true flagships.
These two phones have different displays, 1440 vs 1080, so the adaptive refresh rate of the S21 5G may not be able to be tweaked below 48hz, to say 15-30hz.
The Ultra's display goes down to 10hz.
If that's possible and Samsung issues a new update for this it'll help a bit, maybe another couple of hours of battery life?

best case scenario, hope is any battery inefficiencies with S21 5G can be fixed via firmware/software update.

Another article on battery life. S21 5G with adaptive refresh seems to be pretty bad with a 3hr hit per article.

60Hz / Adaptive - 9:53/6:31

Be interesting to see what the S21+ does for battery life since it has 20% more battery capacity than the regular S21, and just a tad less than the ultra.. same screen as the S21 though, not the 10 hz screen that the S21 Ultra has.. I wonder though on the S21 Ultra in what situations does the 10hz display kick in? They said "reading" but I doubt that means it stops on a webpage when one is reading the page and then kicks back up to 60+ when scrolling. It's probably when using something like a kindle app or true reading.

S21 Ultra actually has a completely different display technology than the other two. The others can't support the low refresh rate because they're not LTPO.

Concerning the mania whether the discount is 10% refund or 10% off future purchase, I've seen multiple comments getting either, so maybe it depends how nice or rookie the rep is.

I see what you're saying but I don't think it's 100% tied to the battery. will wait and see.
It was surprising to see that Samsung will use the same Chinese manufacturer that caused it a lot of grief a few years ago, especially for such a high end flagship phone.

Chinese quality batteries do not measure up to Japanese quality.

But it looks with this S21 phone as if Samsung is on the warpath of cutting costs, and that may not be a wise move for a flagship line product.

Already S21 having problems when you take a selfie.
In Korean already having S21 and saying that when they take selfie, pictures break then it turn into purple color then freeze.
The Samsung knows about it and trying to fix/update software a.s.a.p.

If you specifically need a glass protector, check the Techmatte deal recently posted.

I personally dont like the glass protectors since they are thicker than film or TPU protectors which makes them standout. The added thickness and glue residue also is a dust magnet and requires regular cleaning. Glass protectors also sometimes reflect light in a weird way creating a somewhat mirror effect which I dont like.

Also, for me, I am not sure how much better the glass feels compared to plastic protectors. I tried them out next to each other and didn't feel much of a difference. Of course, the glass protectors will protect your screen not only from scratches but also drops.

Did they confirm 10% refund or offered you a promo code for future purchase. For me they promised 10% refund , but now when chatted the CS offered 10% promo code for future purchase.
can I PM you to know some more details?
Confirm it was 10% back, since the rep mentioned it will be back to my card in 3-5 days.

Just got notified that my 1 or 2 packages got picked up by Fedex for 1/27 delivery. Neither one shows updated on Samsung (in process). Strangely I only have a pending charge for one of the orders not the second one. I sure hope I get both.
Just got notified of my second S21 plus. Both notifications came from Fedex directly.

So I am the only one who doesn't use screen protectors? Isn't the whole point of GG Victus that it is scratch resistant?
