To answer some of the many questions about the low trade-in value shown. I have done this sorts of trade-in with T-Mobile before, It's a 2 part deal, It doesn't show the full $800 amount, THAT'S NORMAL.

PART 1.The official trade-in value you see during the process is less than the $800 offer, because that's the trade-in value that Assurant (the phone goes to them not directly to T-Mobile,) pays for said phone. The Trade-In "agreement" is for the Assurant value amount.

PART 2. Once Assurant has received, assessed and accepted the trade-in, T-Mobile adds the difference in the form of bill credits to total the amount of the Promo.
So it shows Trade-In value $80, yes, that's what Assurant will be paying for the phone. T-Mobile will add $720 to that and spread it all out in credits for a 24 months term. A couple of days after submitting the trade-in, your account should show the promo in the EIP section. The promo name will be shown there and "Pending Trade-In".

Voila.

Awesome deal for my S9. Wonder if Costco comes up with rebate deal instead of this EIP deal. Prefer outright deal.

I got slightly different number. Where did you get the 694 down?

I'm thinking about trading for N10 Plus to S1 Ultra. Here is my math:

1200 S21 Ultra
325 quoted value today for N10 Plus, Minus
875 EIP for 24 months; Subtotal
875 / 24 = $36.5 payment per month without credit
800 - 325 = 475 Promo credit remaining for 24 months.
475 / 24 = $20 per month promo credit for 24 months.
36.5 - 20 = 16.5 per month payment after credits for 24 months.
Total out of pocket cost $396 + tax
S21 ultra 512GB under my account is coming up @ $580 + tax down.
I can not pay the full down, but that means I only pay higher monthly cost, the net in the end, does not change. It remains the same.

EDIT: You made a mistake in your math. Even if you qualify for $0 down, you are still responsible for the tax. Your monthly payments are
1200/24 = $50 NOT $36
The instant credit is issued to your account as a one time bill credit, that is, if the person checking in your phone deems it worthy of that credit.

Just bought 2 doing two upgrades. I received $270 in credit for my Note 10. $270 is instant credit to me, while the remaining $530 will be credit in 24 monthly payments. All you are paying now is the sale taxes for the device. This is a great deal for the customer and tmobile. Essentially after 24 months the phone came out free of charge (other than taxes).
did you order from tmobile store? I am trying to order but I don't see anywhere where it states anything about the remaining bill credits on checkout.

Anyone know if a cracked back glass would still get the full trade in value?

Thinking to trade in my main daily driver S9+.
But resolution on s21 is a downgrade, and loses microSD.
This is my dilemma with my Note9, the resolution I can live with but dropping the MicroSD hurts. But I'll probably get better battery life and performance, and more OS updates, and maybe a trade in deal in the future, I'm so on the fence...

I have a Note 9 I want to trade in, and I'm interested in the S21 Ultra..

- T-Mobile is offering $800 for for it = pay $400+, but 24 month EIP..
- Samsung is offering $350 trade-in + $100 T-Mobile Discount = pay $712.49+, but get $250 to spend on accessories and 10% CB..

I think the price comes out almost the same at the end, just a matter of EIP versus paying upfront?

LOL. Do you really think any carrier is going to allow you to trade in an old phone for a new flagship model without any strings attached? Without a doubt, they are going to set the terms so that you cannot cancel service after a few months and walk away with a new phone for cheap.

This approach isn't anything new. I don't like bill credits either, but at least this round they are not requiring you to add a line.

Your best hope is that Costco will offer this deal too. But in all likelihood the trade-in values will be substantially lower since there would not be any bill credits by buying from Costco.
Thank you for your response. I have waited and waited for a decent iphone 12 COSTCO offer. Nothing has materialized so far. COTCO had great offers Nov 2019 - Jan 2020 but nothing so far Non 2020 to Jan 2020 (I am talking about the non-bill credit trade in deals).

I can't believe my Walmart $199 Pixel 4a just netted me a free S21 upgrade and the pre-order bonus. The phone has been sitting in my drawer because it lacked so many features.

Go to samsung.com wayyyyyy better promotion than this, plus you get quite a few stuff for free. Tmobile is an scam, i traded in an iphons XS MAX in perfect condition, they said that the screen was cracked by the time they got it. promotion GONE just liek that... DO NOT GO WITH TMOBILE.
1. You should have made a video of packing the traded in phone.
2. You can complain on social media - T-Mobile.
3. Write a letter to the telecom regulatory authority in your State. They will be compelled to respond.
4. Write to your senator or legislator. They will forward your letter to the State regulatory body and T-Mobile and ask them to respond to THEM (senator/legislator). T-Mobile will be forced to investigate since they don't mess with senators/legislators. Once the legislators get a response from the carrier, they will send it to you.
5. Don't give up. You vote, don't you?

Kind of disappointed in T-Mobiles offer - if you want 2 phones and have 2 pixel 3 xls the bogo w.o trade in is the same as trade in offer...

So on T-Mobile website. Under the deals tab, you go to Samsung. It does show you will get $100/$200 credit depending on the S21 model you get. To redeem from the shop app from Samsung. T-Mobile is offering better trade in values especially for someone trading in a pixel or somewhat older iPhone. A certain amount is applied and the rest is applied as bill credit. If you plan to stay with T-Mobile and haven't moved. The 24 months honestly should be a no brainer.
Nice catch. With this, T-Mobile definitely has better deal. Plus I had registered preorder credit of 60 from Samsung, so some extra accessories.
Trade in my international version Oneplus 7T pro to get a Samsung s21 for free + tax and receive 100+60 Samsung credit

I stuck with Samsung's flagships primarily due to sd card support. Losing the headphone jack was annoying, but I could live with that. No sd is a deal breaker for me as I take tons of videos of my kid, and even my 400gb sd fills up fast. Cloud sync eats up data and battery, and not to mention the high yearly cost of cloud data. Also, I prefer to have all my photos and videos on removable memory, so I can just pop it into a new phone without having to sync everything.

They do this just as high capacity sd cards are becoming increasingly affordable.

Samsung used to cater to enthusiasts who didn't want to deal with Apple's "my way or the highway" mentality, but they have totally lost that unique advantage.

F Samsung for doing this....so disappointed. Going to rock my $550 Amazon Warehouse Note 10+ as long as I can.
