To answer some of the many questions about the low trade-in value shown. I have done this sorts of trade-in with T-Mobile before, It's a 2 part deal, It doesn't show the full $800 amount, THAT'S NORMAL.

PART 1.The official trade-in value you see during the process is less than the $800 offer, because that's the trade-in value that Assurant (the phone goes to them not directly to T-Mobile,) pays for said phone. The Trade-In "agreement" is for the Assurant value amount.

PART 2. Once Assurant has received, assessed and accepted the trade-in, T-Mobile adds the difference in the form of bill credits to total the amount of the Promo.
So it shows Trade-In value $80, yes, that's what Assurant will be paying for the phone. T-Mobile will add $720 to that and spread it all out in credits for a 24 months term. A couple of days after submitting the trade-in, your account should show the promo in the EIP section. The promo name will be shown there and "Pending Trade-In".

Voila.

Awesome deal for my S9. Wonder if Costco comes up with rebate deal instead of this EIP deal. Prefer outright deal.

this is my understanding from previous promos. one line cannot have more than one "phone" promo. say your s20fe is receiving the monthly credits on line 1, you can pay off the EIP for that phone and you'll still get the monthly credits. you can trade in your s20fe to get the s21, but have to use line 2 in order to get the monthly credits.
That is not the case.
"How Recurring Device Credits (RDC) work

To receive Recurring Device Credits (RDC), you must purchase your device on EIP and meet any other requirements of the promotion.
You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first.
If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months)."
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...al-credits
So we can have multiple device credit for the same line as long as we pay off the balance of existing EIP before we start a new EIP

The actual way this works with the $800/$400/$200 depending on device group credit, less the actual device trade-in value, spread over 24 months is spelled out on the pop-up page you get if you click on the link above the specific S21 phones when shown on the T-Mobile web site that is shown with the text "See how to save big when you buy 2 or trade in an eligible device."

I captured that as a single image and placed it here:

http://www.2150.com/files/sd/terms_S21_promo.jpg

Refer to the item next to bullet point 3 on the list which says "Receive a one-time bill credit based on your trade-in value, and the balance of the offer via 24 monthly bill credits."

Yes, it sure would be nice if anything about that got mentioned when actually creating an online order. But the info is there. Smilie

I went through with the order, but I didn't see anything about a promotion during checkout and it didn't mention I was trading in a phone. Is this all normal course of business? First time doing a trade in with Tmobile. Thanks in advance for those who answer.

Anyone else thoroughly disappointed with Samsung in the last 2 years? I was unimpressed by the S20 and once again this year. They just keep taking features away. Things removed since the S10: headphone jack, heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, MST for Samsung Pay, microsd card support, charging brick, 1440p screens on non-ultra models, glass back on standard model. Am I missing anything? Ram hasn't even changed on the standard models since the S10. And what do you get in return? 5G is on all new phones so it doesn't really count, a better camera with 8k, 120hz on downgraded displays, S-pen support. Doesn't seem like enough. I guess I'll look towards the Sony Xperia 1 II when I go to replace my S10+ unless they release a decent Note 21 if it's not discontinued.

So I am on TMobile and have an s20 and s20 fe so I can trade in one for each line and get the s21 free after 2 billing cycle?

Seems like samsung knows the phone will be hard to sell for the lower specs so giving all these promos?

I will wait for Costco deals.
No money for Note8? Ridiculous..

I wish I got A71 with that $200 deal with trade in any phone.. Really nice phone.

I have done several T-Mobile trade ins. After the trade in device info is entered, it will tell you that you qualify for a promotion (like $830 for iPhone promotion) .. it doesn't show any promotion for the Galaxy S21. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Also, the final checkout screen will clearly list the breakdown of the Bill credit (see attached screenshot for example)....the Galaxy S21 checkout screen does not show this. Don't know if this is a glitch....the breakdown can be seen if you order other phones.

And don't confuse my question with trade in value of the device... I fully understand the one-time credit + rest in 24 bill credits

What is MST (for Samsung Pay)?

I don't see the promotion when I go to the link, it only shows link to calculate what the monthly payments will be based on providing basic information. The only offer I see is to buy one get one free, but nothing about $800 credit for trade-in.

What am I doing wrong?

Allows you to pay at places that don't have NFC. Samsung basically neutered Samsung Pay at this point between that and the rewards changes. They will probably ditch it for Google Pay soon.

I think you are making a great choice.
You can turn this mode on to see if you can tell the difference between FHD+ and WQHD+ resolution.
Good call, i just changed my display to 1480x720 to test it out. so far can't tell the difference. Didn't even know I could do this Big Grin
