I used Team Group RAM in mine two 8gb sticks 2666 mhz. The computer itself has 4 slots for RAM. So I just replaced what came in it instead of adding to it.

Bought these to 8gb sticks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...=UTF8&th=1 and just added it to the open black tabs on the motherboard and works great 24gb ram. If your not selling/giving away that stick might as well put it back where it was for 24gb.

I put the RAM back into another PC, but I have the 8GB and a 4GB stick I can throw into 2 of the slots but I'm worried about Dual Channel VS Single Channel if that would somehow mess up the speeds of the RAM.

From my understanding that's not really an issue these days as windows manages ram better. However I would just add back the 8 gig stick.
I understand from the Dell page that i5 cannot see RAM speed more than 2666 MHz despite the fact Dell ships with 3200 MHz RAM. I ordered a 2666 MHZ RAM from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QMMY...UTF8&psc=1
With 24 GB memory, the Bios speed shows 2400 MHz. I thought it should run at the slower speed or 2666MHz.? Is that not the case?
If only put in the dual 2666MHz RAM, then the BIOS sees the correct speed.(2666 MHz)
Cheapest option to get 16gb ram to run @2666 on these dells is to buy an exact match from a member here and run dual channel. I just so happen to have one for sale, lol, since I just installed 2x16gb sticks. I learned that when I bought my i7 xps and went through a bunch of different gaming brands of ram and could only get the ram to 2133 due to lack of xmp on our motherboards. If you stick with ram that is 1.2v and not xmp 2.0 protocol then it will play nice with these dell xps motherboards.

Thanks. For my present use case I don't see an issue with it running at lower speeds but will pull the 8GB out if it creates an issue.
