Samsung evo 860 are cheap now and will outlast and outperform any mechanical hard drive. If you are set on mechanical drives, I've had good luck with barracuda 7200rpm drives. Also, if you are looking for dirt cheap mechanical drives then you can probably find real good deals on 2.5" mechanical hard drives that were pulled from new laptops on ebay. I personally prefer the Toshiba drives as they would last forever.
Anyone finding anything worth using their ~$17.70 in Dell rewards on?
They have a couple 64GB uSD cards I was looking at, but don't really need. A Samsung Evo Plus for ~$16 and an Samsung Endurance for ~$18. Don't really want to pay more for a larger card I don't need, but don't need a smaller card either. Don't see a lot else useful for under $20 and free shipping.
Ideas...?
PS. What are people buying to replace or add to their 8GB DDR4?

I got this pc and it was horrible. Don't get it. It's on sale for a reason I can't even run 200 FPS on fort with a 240 FPS monitor. This pc is trash.
yeah, don't be stupid if you can help it... though it's tough to tell if that was just meant as sarcasm.
If by some chance you were serious, most people that know what they're doing aren't buying a $600 entry to mid-level gaming system to play with 200FPS and 240Hz (which I can only guess you meant instead of FPS, as monitors aren't usually spec'd by FPS.)
With it's limited upgradability and space, no it's not a stellar machine. I does still happen to be a good value for people with basic to mid gaming expectations. Only immediate concerns for most is an extra 8GB of memory and a 2nd hard drive (or replacement 1st) for extra storage. Worst case, you can sell the GPU for around $350 currently and rest of this computer for probably enough to make back your money or even profit a smidge.

I understand from the Dell page that i5 cannot see RAM speed more than 2666 MHz despite the fact Dell ships with 3200 MHz RAM. I ordered a 2666 MHZ RAM from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QMMY...UTF8&psc=1
With 24 GB memory, the Bios speed shows 2400 MHz. I thought it should run at the slower speed or 2666MHz.? Is that not the case?
If only put in the dual 2666MHz RAM, then the BIOS sees the correct speed.(2666 MHz)
There's a good bit more to ram speeds than just the MHz. Probably would have been better off getting a slightly faster 2nd stick if mixing memory with different timings. Didn't have to be 3200, but at least one step up from 2666, or 3000 MHz, I think. That or look for 2666 MHz memory with lower column addressing, like CL11, and it should be more compatible with other 2666 sticks.
Imo, regarding the ram it's best to either find an exact match 8gb single rank 1.2v and run dual channel, or replace oem stick with a 16, 32gb 1.2v non xmp ram to be able to run @ 2666 mhz speeds. Even if you find another 8gb ram stick that matches oem spec, make sure it's single rank otherwise your speeds will drop. Again, Just my opinion.
Can anyone who received theirs report on the brand (e.g. Asus, MSI, EVGA) of the 1660 Super that came with this machine? I ordered from a more recent deal and am curious.

I believe its just an OEM card possibly manufactured by Dell themselves on Speccy it just says something like 1660 Super (Dell) and I don't think there is any branding on the card itself except for the word Geforce.and GTX

Thanks for your reply. Do you think that means it is locked from any sort of overclocking? I probably wouldn't do anything initially but it would be nice to know if it is an option down the line.
For further technical information on graphics card , lookup and install TechPowerUp GPU-Z app. It tells you what's in there in the graphics card as well as the onboard

No matter what the video card and other parts are decent right? coz it's by dell? (first time buying a dell, before I built my pc but not very good at it and getting lazy)
Question I just ordered the dell XPS the 700 bucks one, I did "guest check out" then after purchase on the page it says click here to create an account with 1 click. I did and it says I already have an account!?!?! but I never created an account with dell before. I entered the pw that I commonly used in several sites but nope, so did pw reset.
Maybe when I did guest check out it auto created an account? then I did the "1 click" to create an account and created another account? did anyone have similar experience like me? I hope the order isn't going to someone else if I got hacked or virus or whatever. I did chat and they told me to call a number but they don't work on weekends so I have to wait till Monday

I got a lot of old programs that I have in DVD, they were from win7 or win2000 lol, like old MS outlook, AV, etc. Will they work in win10? specifically for ms outlook, I can uninstall dell's trial version and install mine that I purchased a long time ago right? also because I have all the important stuff over the years I need in outlook.pst, not sure if new outlook is the same way.
out of curiorsity, within how many day can I cancel the order without penalty? prolly will keep it just wondering.

I'm not sure about the cancelation question but this computer has no DVD drive or any optical drive so installing things off of discs is a no, unless you buy a USB disc drive for it.

The 1660 card is very good
Also on order page you can initiate a chat for order related questions. The Dell machine you mentioned is a good deal
