I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

So you transferred 4 numbers to metro pcs?
No. Two ports + two new lines.

Just replicated the deal for a second time. Walked in on the following day and got another N10 for $30 out the door. How'd I do it? I walked in like a boss and they had no choice but to hand me a free phone. That's just how it's done!
It's possible to do it twice if you fulfill this criteria:
1. They don't ask for your ID the first time you sign up so you can give them fake name/address.
2. The CS store has different employees on different days or you can go to another store that doesn't know you.

I went yesterday to check stock and when I went to pick it up today, the employees there were completely different from yesterday (probably a different team). It was entirely possible to do it twice had I really wanted to since they didn't check ID.

Quote from cainzer :
CS told me the $100 for 4 is by rebate AFTER you are on autopay for 90 days. So I would need to pay $120 up front then get 20 back after 90 days of autopay..........is that true?

Thanks
Not true. I got the $100 for 4 plan without any autopay. You can argue with them about it or just pay the $120 upfront to get it over with.

Is this worth attempting if I do not have a single corporate store near me? Only dealers and they are all super shady (last time I tried an iPhone offer they charged me sales tax on full MSRP of like a thousand+)
You can try another authorized dealer. Not all seems to be shady while others are just clueless. Good luck finding stock for it though because I couldn't find any in all the authorized stores that I've visited.

Would the ting sim work on any phone ?

I have a Net10 phone I bought on an SD deal like a year ago. I never connected it.

I also have a metro phone laying around.
I will try both and update you.

How do you know I was going to stay only for one month? Did you see me post any such thing?

BTW, what do you call MetroPCS which scams innocent customers who may not be speaking english well by adding unnecessary charges such as insurance etc?

What do you say about parent company Tmobile which creates all kinds of new promos for new customers yet screws over existing customers? This is purely a business deal where you are taking advantage of an offer made by business. There is no ethics in a pure business transaction. It is ALWAYS zero sum game. That's Capitalistic society.

I show my ethics by donating money to good charities
If you think there are no ethics in capitalism then you must be a government employee. To be successful, one HAS to be ethical. Not sure what you mean buy "pure business transactions". My views from sales of 30+ years and owning my company where honesty has kept me and my reps in business. Regarding people paying for phone insurance, many want the coverage and pretty much every store like Metro has a Spanish (sometimes Chinese) speaking employee here in California. It's like people buying a new or used car and wanting extended warranty. For some people, they are convinced it's necessary. Always ymmv.

Depend on how much do you want the phone. MSRP is $300, tax $30 tops. Even if they charge $25 activation fee, with plan cost, each phone would be less than $100. Still the best deal for 5G capable phone without trade in.

So I am confused; what about the plan that you signed up for? Do you not pay the next month ($100/4 lines)? or was that just a one time charge?

Wow, only 4 corporate stores in all of Houston, TX, closest one is 16 miles away while AD's are right around the corner from me. Is it almost guaranteed that something will go wrong or they will screw me over at an AD store?

Call and ask, if they say yes, mention that online people are saying no taxes were charged and try to haggle. You may have drive in as some don't seem to answer phone. BTW I went to an AD and no tax.

No, I got everything for $120 out the door at an AD. They started out talking about protection plans and activation, I mentioned the deal fine print does not say that, and once they started processing they said you are right, free activation and "it won't even let me add protection on this deal". There were 2 ladies running this store. Give it a shot

$120 no tax, but it must depend on the tax laws in your particular state regarding offers of Free HW for service sign up.

If I already have a metro account and want to use my old numbers on these new phones, do I have to wait until the new number deactivates or can I just put my old sim and call the number to switch phones.

If anyone can verify this, does it mean that once the phone is unlocked in 6 months it can be used on the T-Mobile MVNOs like Mint Mobile? Surely that would work since it is part of the T-M NETWORK. Right?
I know your comment is old but once it is unlocked, yes. Usually, a T-Mobile locked phone will work on MVNOs even when locked but not the other way around, so you would have to wait out the 6 months to use on T-Mobile.
