I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

Went to the East Valley (Main St, Mesa AZ) corporate store to open 4 lines for N10 and N100s if they had them.

As soon as I said four lines and the Nord devices, they almost shut me out immediately.

I was like yeah I have four numbers to port in (eBay Boost numbers). They started to take the info down and started to dial the first number which didn't ring. I said they were drawer phones (which is completely valid as I have 6 tmobile lines currently sitting... In a drawer, not a lie entirely).

They then said that I was a high risk customer and people are just coming in to get thr phones and then resell them.

They then basically said I must meet the following conditions to start service and port in:

* Must bring physical phones with service to store containing the Boost numbers
* Must bring 3 months of paper statements for thr Boost numbers showing service
* Must show ID (that's already stated, fine)
* Must sign up on $60/line rate plan
* Forced insurance for each phone
*Required auto pay and maintain service for 3 months (uh what...?)
* Must pay taxes on each phone

Then when I said "OK, what if I bring a Ting or other number" they essentially labeled me a NAG (no idea I assume no go list) and then they said "no, sorry, we reserve the right to refuse service to you today" and that was that. To clarify, I was not rude or belligerent or otherwise raising my voice. I simply stated that this was backwards, forcing insurance and restrictions.

So... I guess your mileage may vary here...

I learned the hard way that Metro doesn't take Discover card... I nearly lost two Verizon phone numbers, because I learned they don't take Discover after they ported my number.

terrible.

seems to me this promotion ( like most metro promotions) wasn't well thought of.

and now its so popular. the stores will make up their own rules.

better would be like the se deal...get rebate after 3 months.

how they can assume u , me , joe blow , jane do, or dot is gonna sell the phone or use the service for next 10 years is beyond my understanding.

maybe they have a magic ball

i wouldn't think of leaving any store without a receipt for the purchase i made.

i assumed no one would.

didnt think it needs to in the wiki.

but it appears u r the 2nd person that has done that.

perhaps i shld update the wiki with

"get a receipt before u leave the store"...but that seems silly to post...
I was so happy that I got the phones and forgot about the receipt. Smilie
He handed me a bag with all the phone inside. I assumed that the receipt was inside the bag, but it wasn't in there.

The rep was not totally unreasonable. If I am CEO of metro, I would make him MVrep. Stores do have the right to refuse service. The promotion is intended to bring in new customers.

That's strange, because if I paid money for a line of service, does that not make me a new customer?

Don't offer a promotion if you have no intention of fulfilling it to prospective customers. Very simple.

Nothing within I was doing was outside of the realm of possibilities.

It was actually the first place that didn't take a Discover card when I tried paying. Also, I thought of this scene. Stick Out Tongue

I went to a store and they told me not qualify for the promo plus ,and told me maybe I purchased devices in last six months. Then I tried another store and they are so kind but no inventory. I know the reason I was denied by metro system is the phone number I got from Ting with Verizon service.

while they can refuse service to anyone., i disagree with your conclusion.

all indications are that he is a new customer

he had id & was prepared to show it.

besides all the other requirements were simply made up.

they are not part of any terms & agreement.

treating anyone like that is bad for business

I think people are just getting excited about getting the phones that they forget the receipt which is understandable.

Oof. Must have had a lot of customers already doing this deal there because that's a lot of ridiculous requirements. I'll be honest, even if they did sell the phone, I wouldn't trust them with all that BS. I have a feeling that this will happen in more store as time passes and more store are giving away the phones.

Depends on AD. Most likely yes, but if you're lucky no.

maybe receipt is still at store.

consider going back to inquire.

but u risk getting the cops called,
since u have already been to the store once in last 180 days.

and are clearly a criminal.
