I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

Sorry guys, just got home.

Hey, good job! You got them all huh?Cool2

Why isn't it activated it? Did you try inserting the sim yourself and checking? If it's not activated then it might not unlock after 6 month. Sounds like he just wanted to close shop and go home before the activation process.
Yes, thanks for you help.

He started activating the N10s first and then the N100s. After he was done with the N100s, he said, there was an error when activating the N10, both of them. There might be an issue with the account numbers/PINs you gave me or something else, need to call the corporate.

And Yes, I removed the sim and re-inserted. Still the same!

what happens when u call the number?
what about the numbers they assigned to u?

my guess is something is wrong with perhaps the account number or pin from loosing carrier.
so port failed.

i wouldn't worry about it.

u could probably call the port dept tomorrow from home.
and go over details.
they may fix it.
they may have to resubmit the port.
be mindful of that .

if they do the plan resets and could go into suspension until thy apply credit.
is complicated. but start wit h the port dept tomorrow.

u may not have to go back to the store at all.

thats my advice.
but if u feel like it, may be safer to go back in
- When I call the numbers, they are busy. When I want to dial a number it shows this mssg: "No cellular network available. Connect to an available Wi-Fi Network to make calls."
- the other two numbers for N100 are working fine.

He said the same thing (prob a problem with the account number/PIN). I don't want to go back to that store. It was far because the nearby CS was temp closed. Also, I am kind of worried about the account numbers/pins that may be wrong. I assume, if he didn't want to go home, he would cancel the order because the porting failed. At this time, I cannot even replace the porting numbers because it is already in their system. So I guess calling them would be better. But what if the account # and pins are wrong? Can they just refuse to activate them?

Is there any way I reset the phones and initiate the activation from my end?

Try chat online and pretend you know nothing and ask two phone didn't work and see what they tell you.
Good idea, I will try that first.

Just want to throw this out here as well. You can check your carrier using this website.

https://freecarrierlookup.com/

Before getting my TNX sim it showed Sprint. 8 hours later I thought to check it again and this time it showed T mobile.

My port numbers for metro showed Cricket. Hours later, after activation, it showed tmobile, so the site updates rather quickly.
My N100 numbers show Tmobile.
My N10 numbers show Sprint so obviously porting was somehow stopped in the middle (Boost --> Sprint --> Tmobile)

  • T-Mobile Network Experience (TNX) allows Sprint plans and compatible devices to operate on the T-Mobile Network
  • TNX is a necessary step toward the full integration of T-Mobile and Sprint into a single company and network
  • TNX requires in-store qualification to verify plan, device, and coverage compatibility

Try using the N100 number and pin to login to metro online account, and check history or monthly total. It should show all the four phone numbers on your account. Check if they actually give you new numbers on the two N10s. If that is the case, you don't have to do anything, since you don't care about those port-in numbers bought from eBay anyway.

I thought Sprint MNVOs supposedly wouldn't work with port now that Sprint and Tmobile, but I've now read people successfully porting in from Boost...?

Any particular recommendations as to where to pickup a couple number to port in? Is it worth it to pay more for a Verizon or ATT number, or should most Sprint MNVOs actually work?

Port has failed because of some error.

You have to fix it with the port dept.

Just reconfirm the correct info.

Dish now owns boost which uses Sprints 800mhz spectrum therefore the lookup shows sprint. When S/T merger is fully completed the lookup may or may not show tmobile. Have to wait and see.

Yes they played very nasty game today. For example, they add a "-" on the name. For some reason, the system just give an message like "this customer is not qualified for the plus discount. However, you are qualified for the regular discount". I asked them what that means they said I need to pay $70 for the phone instead of free. I almost left. Then I insist I want him to try again to make sure he type everything right. He tried again with the "-" and I caught him this time. After he corrected it, that error message is gone

wait. what?

hold the phone, (the newly acquired metro n10 phone)

if true the implications of this is huge. and would explain a lot.

1, there is no data base. no record of who is customer in last 180 days. metro is buffing us by requiring a id verification. its just so you "think" your info has been captured.

2, many folks who have not been with metro ever. reported as being ineligible. denied,. most likely because they were "profiled" as potential fraud as they walked into store

3. many people who had promotion in last 180 days did it again.

4. even though terms say id verification, some have reported the reps didnt bother to get a DL at all

im gonna test my theory .

will be going to a different CS.

that is if i can find numbers to port in.

anyone else bold enough to try, do repot back

oh metro u got us lol

You might be on to something. Taking one for the team. Way to go Desi

Makes me wonder if it's only recorded for security purposes, say for law enforcement
