day 1. u pay for service for 30 days. sim & imei married.
day 30. last day of service u do not pay anymore. sim & imei married.
day 31. now service is suspended, but u r in grace period. .sim & imei married.

day 61. now official the number has been released. u have no way to get back service.
day 62. u can now sell phone to metro only customers. take ot sim.

in summary. after day ~62. u can list for sale to metro only customer, while u wait the 4 month to maybe unlock.
What if you change the device? Metro site allows you to change the device? I was able to link the metro service to an unlocked phone by using their website. What happens in my scenario?

Lots of details in this thread but still could not understand. I have a Visible service that I would like to cancel this month. How can I use it to get a free phone here? Is the notes in the instructions of this thread still valid and applicable? Thank you.

This month-old deal is for porting TWO AT&T or Verizon-owned numbers (Visible is Verizon). Not one. And is essentially over as many report being charged activation fees, which did not happen weeks ago.

You can still get a current new phone deal for porting in one line, but that is not the purpose of this thread. Look on the Metro site for current offers.

First - extremely grateful for this thread and the helpful advice here.

Tried to do this on the phone: "The $120 plan include tethering. Can call 800 number to switch plan and get refund after signing up instore. There should be no tax on phones, and no tax on plan."

Talked to multiple supervisors - I insisted on getting a check mailed to me or refund to the credit card. I kept getting denied. They kept overly-explaining that it was impossible, that they could only refund either the full amount or none at all; or bill credit (which I adamantly did not want). Made no sense. Eventually, after the fourth supervisor, I said - fine - give me the full amount then. They said ok - and put in a request to refund the whole amount. Then they said the service would need to be ended - I said fine. Do I need to return the phone? The supervisor said I could go to the store to get a refund for the phone (a refund of $0? - I didn't tell him that though). Eventually he put in the request and said he was unable to cancel the phone service on his end bc the acct was too new. But the request for refund was alrdy input. He told me to go to the store to cancel the lines, and he said that was the only way to cancel. So I called again, the next agent said similarly - that you can't cancel over the phone within seven days. So I said - pls let me speak to another supervisor - can you just auto cancel on day 7 and not make me waste another call in the future and just give me a refund? After waiting for the supervisor, I was able to get a cancellation of four lines on the phone and a refund request processed. Before doing this cancellation, I asked if the phone can still be used with metropcs, another account, and the supervisor said yes. So ... I got a prorated refund processed. And I got to keep the phones, and now it's even easier to sell because they phones are not married to active SIM service.
So you got 4 phones almost free?

I thought so. It's very YMMV. My brother tried to do it with his 4 phones this deal and kept getting denied after going through multiple supervisors. One of the supervisors said the refund request that went through for mine would eventually be denied. I'll see what happens. The supervisor that put in the request said I should be getting a refund next Monday. He did not say it was just a REQUEST for a refund that could be potentially denied; he said it was a refund. So....tl;dr - told two different things from different supervisors: 1) it's possible to get a refund and keep the phones and 2) it's not possible.

Originally, I just wanted $20 back because I did not need tethering. The store would not allow 4 for $100; their cheapest was 4 for $120. So I tried to follow instructions to downgrade on the phone after leaving the store. My brother was able to downgrade and get $20 back on his 4 phones. I was not....bc the supervisor said I could only get full refunds and cancel service - there was no in between. So that's how it escalated to full cancellation/pro-rata full refund.

To get this deal phone numbers form Visible (Verizon MVNO) also works. I've got some Visible numbers for port if you are interested. Looking for $5 AGC for each number.

Then the phone is free for any metro customers to use or to sell to only metro customers until it gets unlocked 6 months later..

The camera on my moto g stylus 2020 is quite good. Not quite on the level as my pixel 3a or iphone se 2020 but I have been very happy with it. It is tough for Moto and Nord cameras to compete with pixel/iphone in darker environments. When I ran a comparison test, I actually saw most detail in the towel fibers with the Moto G Stylus and I put it against the iphone se 2020, samsung galaxy a71 5g and moto z2 force. This surprised me. I highly recommend gcam parrot as it really helps with the detail and color accuracy. I think gcam will help both Moto and Nord. I actually put gcam on my samsung galaxy a71 5g as it surprisingly did better than the samsung camera default app..... I thought the moto g ace 5g had the same exact camera but I think the stylus 2020 camera is actually better as it has laser AF, higher 16mp ultrawide rather than 8mp and can shoot 1080p at 120fps. It can also shoot ultrawide video in vertical. I do think the moto g ace 5g finetuned their camera app interface to look more cleaner and polished.

As for 15 watt fast charging with 5000 mAh vs 30 watt fast charging with 4300 mAh battery? I would rather have the extra 700 mAh battery. Motorola still charges quite fast.

* I am interested in both the Moto G Ace 5G and the Nord N10 5G. I pretty much know what to expect from the Moto. I am curious to try out the Nord N10 5G but I really prefer the regular Nord. Too bad regular Nord isn't in the US and had this deal.
So the gcam is actually called gcam to download from Google play store?
