I seriously wished I visited this thread again before visiting a corporate store today... I last looked at this thread when it was first posted...

Anyways, I went to a corporate store in the bay area today (called ahead of time to confirm free N10s, and two N100s with two port in numbers). Great, $20 activation fee, no big deal.

I was forced to show them my ID so that they could enter all my info and I think they might have taken a picture with the store ipad. I ported two numbers over from Tello.

They asked if I wanted the 4 for $100 deal which I said yes. They gave me a subtotal of $226 and I didn't think much of it since I thought it included the tax and fees. They didn't bother explaining that they're charging me $37 service payment per phone prior to payment. They also required a card and said that the automatic payment is required in order to get the 4/$100 deal.

All in all, I've been had for a grand total of $246 with the activation utility tax of $8 and $80 activation fee for 4 phones. Feeling like a complete idiot for not coming back to this thread before going to the store. I'm now reading the return details and I can't even get a refund for service fees...
Hmm, can you break it down to what it says on your invoice

$120 Plan (and supposedly $100 on 2nd month w/ Autopay)
$ 88 Activation + tax
$ 38 (Insurance ?? $7x4=$28) ( Mexico Add on ?? $5x2=$10)
= $246

If that's the case, then it's not really that bad. You may be able to go back and ask them to refund the Insurance since you never asked for it.

Agree, $246 for 4 phones is not too bad considering activation fee is not waived any more. Some people had to go to AD and paying $200ish even without activation fee. May be overcharged a little for insurance.

From pcmag:

"The new low-cost line of phones from OnePlus is a big success at Metro by T-Mobile, boosting the manufacturer's sales share there to nearly 15%, the highest share OnePlus has ever seen at a US carrier, according to Wave7 Research.

Metro sells 15-16 million devices per year, Wave7 says in a new report, which means that if OnePlus can keep this up, it could sell more than 2 million Nord phones this year at Metro alone."

Later on Metro reported 90% of the Nord phones are no longer in active service. (This part is by me, not pcmag)

How many could have been bought by SDers out of the 2 million?

lol. 100% devices are not eligible to auto-unlock after 6 months if no service for continuous 6 months - Metro's press report (Based on SD data point Smilie ) on July 2021.

I too wondered if this could be used on other carriers and found this information:

"Unlocked versions of both phones will be available from OnePlus directly as well as at Best Buy, Amazon and B&H Photo Video, though the Nord N10 5G will only support 5G on T-Mobile's network and be limited to 4G LTE if used on AT&T or Verizon."

Is this accurate?

Rule of thumb is no. Not unless you can convince a Verizon employee to add the IMEI to their database. Even AT&T usability is doubtful long-term since they have a super strict VoLTE approved device list and they're shutting their 3G down Feb. 2022; meaning you will have data but no calls after that.

TLDR; don't get this if you're not going to use it on Tmobile network
