LG 75" Class (74.5" Diag.) - UN8570 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV

$899 from 1/17 - 2/7

Budget tv with current gen gaming console hdmi 2.1 goodness...
and "real" 120hz native refresh.

Rtings dropped the ball on the value of this tv, for its size and gaming input lag, and resolutions supported + price point.

even the 65" @ $629 was enticing me, plus the 82" and 86" are regularly discounted, but glad I waited for the 75". For gaming I love this size now on my Sony 850E and xbox one x / ps4 pro.

Now I'll be ready for the series X, ps4 pro, gaming video cards, etc with 120hz input @ 4k displayed natively whenever I get the source content.

And a reputable brand (been scared to buy a vizio M/P/PQ...) . Plus Costco warranty/return policy...for gaming/ganers, its like this tv was built with that in mind 1st and foremost.

Theres debate if VRR is supported but if not it likely will be. Still a badass 120hz @ 4k / 1440p / 1080p capable tv @ 75" for $899 is hard to beat...

FYI firmware notes mention freesync support
and RTX 30xx improvements:

Its cheap which is the pro and has 120hz via hdmi 2.1. The cons are a lot however. No FALD, dim screen with low peak brightness, bad contrast, fake HDR, cant display 4k properly, no wide color gamut, cant display blacks and will have a cloudy screen whenever you try to watch any dark scenes.

Having recently replaced my IPS screen LG UH7700 IPS LG TV with a Sony x90CH...I can vouch that the blacks (and more) on the Sony are MUCH better. The LG 'blacks' are more shades of gray. In addition the IPS had really bad DSE - but I'm not sure if that's related to IPS or panel lottery. However it handled bright colors -especially green - very well. Still compared to the Sony...glad to be rid of it.

My wife could not see the flaws in the LG until I pointed it out to her. Something I did not do until we replaced the it (sold it through FB marketplace). Cause once you see these types of things you can't stop seeing them. She said she never would have noticed and it never bothered her.

I'd suggest seeing the LG in person and if your happy with the image -buy it and save money. Pay particular attention to anything truly black if you can.

We bought this TV during BF. The picture was ok and we liked it. After a few weeks the WIFI started randomly disconnecting and you couldn't connect to the internet without a full TV reset. After troubleshooting with the concierge service they sent me to LG customer service. LG couldn't fix it and they were going to send a technician. Then the TV volume wouldn't work, again randomly it would go mute and you would have to power cycle the TV to fix it. At that point I contacted costco.com to come get the TV.

They came picked up my TV on 12/22/2020 and I have yet to receive my refund. I'll never buy anything again from Costco that I can't personally take to the store myself to return it.

My TV was a lemon and the delivery guys that picked it up said they've seen a bunch of those getting returned. But if you get a good one and don't have to deal with COSTCO returns, then you should be fine.
Well, I personally would put more trust on Costco several times over any other retailer in general... especially on returns...

That said, i did have not so great experience with them this holiday season... I had to contact/chat couple of times to get them to pickup the TV, and chat couple of times to get the refund. at the end it all worked out, but just delayed. One of the reps stayed on chat with me for 45 mins to try and resolve it, she mentioned that their delivery/pickup company was heavily backed up due to the volume... also after they picked up, they didnt report properly back to costco, which delayed the refund. just an fyi..

That's exactly what happened to me. Some of the costco reps were not very helpful while others were extremely helpful. It got "elevated" a few times, I finally got my refund, so all is good. It shouldn't take a month and several phone calls/chat sessions to get it resolved. Even now, costco.com shows return in progress on the order.

costco outsources call center for its web site. My EX GF got hired for the job, but could not hang. Many reps may be new and not know whats going on yet.

Can we be sure here in LG , on the 120hz refresh rate ?? or is it ACTUALLY only 60hz?

Coz Samsung tricks by saying 120hz motion rate but actually their rep said it is simulated so it is double the actual refresh rate ....for any Samsung TV.

Hope LG is different in their claims!

Any advice?!

Native means original.... before processing... Digital manipulation is used by all electronics companies on most entertainment models. LG calls theirs "trumotion" which is another term for fake. This TV is 120 Native, IPS panel. There are better panels for gaming and movies.... Consider this an entry level 120HZ.... OK at everything but great at nothing.... Best used with medium indoor lighting were business gatherings are the focus, NOT entertainment.
