Was with them many years. I dumped them 2 years back when they stopped $12 federal + state

For those that use TurboTax, Chase Offers has 10% off if you use:
- Sapphire Reserve
- Freedom
- Freedom Unlimited

there may be others but I have the above and saw it there. Not as much as 30% for this deal but some are picky on their tax providers

I have been using them forever but they keep raising the price of the downloadable software that it might be time to move on. I really liked the ability to fill in fields direct on the forms vs having to do the Q&A for everything.

Any deals on Taxact lately. Only reason I continue using it is all my info is there from the previous year.

Yes, the Taxact price is crazy high this year. I even have 30% off and it is still very high. I'd love to go ahead and file and get it done but I'm waiting on a deal. Last year I paid 10.00 total for State and Federal. This year it's locked in at about 150.00. I'm not paying that.

Anyone know how to request the IRS send all of your previous taxes back to you?
Have seen that option in the IRS website itself if I remember correctly.

I have been using TaxAct for many years but this year I switched to FreeTaxUSA due to TA's ridiculous pricing.

I "locked in" my $10 pricing last year, but it's not showing up. Their email support is basically non-existent and haven't responded (with an actual non-automated response) in like 2 months.

I have used Taxact for the past 8+ years. It is now the most expensive. Last year close to 4-15 they had a deal for 5.00 for each Fed and St.

Right now the lowest is about 60 for each. I'm waiting for another deal because all my info is with Taxact.

If I want to go elsewhere, how easy or hard or is it even possible to transfer all you past info to new software? Thanks.

Do not think there is a way to transfer or if any of the softwares allow a transfer. But the larger question is, I doubt you will need to transfer; most of the information is new info for the current year unless there are any carryover.

Call TaxAct customer service to get a lower rate. I was still locked in at a 30% off deal from October 2020 off their current price for Premier. Called them and the CS agent took another $25 off for me. With the extra $7 I'll get off for paying for it with my Chase Freedom card via their bonus cashback offer, I'll only be paying like $16 for Federal this year.

If you have WorkingAdvantage membership from your employer, they have 25% off TaxAct.

https://www.workingadvantage.com/...ub=tax-act

*25% offer is only valid until 10/31/21 at 11:55 pm CT for state and federal 2020 online returns and specified ancillary services and may not be combined with other offers. Price paid is determined at the time of print or e-file and is subject to change without notice. Additional fees apply for state returns. Add sales tax for applicable orders.

After I imported my tax info from last year, an option for "All-Inclusive" popped up.
Quote :
Take advantage of 50% savings when you bundle these top products
All-Inclusive
Federal Filing - Access to all our online forms and schedules to file your federal return (Form 1040). You'll have access to all our online forms and schedules to file your federal return (Form 1040). This includes everything in our Free, Deluxe, Premier, and Self Employed Products. Regardless of your tax situation our All-Inclusive bundle has you covered.
Includes access to features like prior year import, My TaxPlan, Pro Tips, Deduction Maximizer, Donation Assistant, and Stock Assistant.
State Return - File one state return
Refund Transfer - Pay nothing up front by subtracting your TaxAct software fees from your refund
E-File Concierge - Personalized help to track your e-file status and fix a rejected federal return
Audit Defense - An audit professional will deal with the IRS for you

Bundle & Save $101.21
So if I was going to buy the self employed version at 25% off for $71.21 fed + $41.21 state = $112.42. The all-inclusive would be cheaper.

Thanks Dilbert, I was just researching this thread because the same offer popped up for me. I had two 2020 Self-Employed returns in my portal, each of which I must have clicked through to lock in some discount last year. One of them came up around $101 like yours; the other was even cheaper @ $94.46. Hard to see any drawbacks to this offer, so I'll probably accept it. The only other competitive offer is the one on Groupon @ $82, but doesn't include Audit Defense.

Ditched Taxact after almost 10 year and switched to freetaxUSA and could not be happier. uploaded my previous year tax return and everything was imported. Did not have to enter most information. Interface is way easier then taxact. was done in 10 mins.

Bye bye Taxact.
