Edit: It appears some want to hide this comment and have people believe since dogs eat poop, as the user below suggests, they are "sure it is fine" to regularly eat cat food (as long as they get dog food too). I would say I'm surprised people would want to intentionally harm a strangers dog by providing poor information, but it takes a lot to surprise me anymore. Even if not intentional, it's certainly negligence. The comment "I'm sure", along with no evidence reminds me of current events (this last sentence is sure to get me some down-votes

P.S.S. Obviously your dog isn't likely to die after eating cat food, but it is unwise to regularly give it as a "topper" to dog food. My dog is family and I'll dish out a few extra cents for actual dog food. Unless you are in a bad spot financially, I'd suggest you do the same. Better yet, ask your vet their opinion, instead of strangers that may not have your dog's best interest in mind.

Cats are carnivores and their diet is almost exclusively made up of meat. Dogs, on the other hand, are omnivores and need a much more balanced diet to meet their nutritional requirements. Cat food tends to be high in fat, calories and protein which means it's not ideal for dogs. Dogs with sensitive stomachs may suffer gastrointestinal upset, sickness and diarrhea after eating cat food. Those fed it regularly are at greater risk of obesity and potentially life-threatening pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the organ that aids the digestive process.

3 cans of friskies for 5 cats/day, along with their dry, is their healthy diet. And 25 cat treats each.
But one of them is getting too fat, even though I started letting ot outside for exercise. I suspect a diet will be hard, when ome cat isnt eating enough, and one is fat, while owning 5 furballs.
This deal is MMV btw, theres none near me. But grest if you dont mind driving a little.
