This dock has the ability to act as a hub for a wide range of devices that support display output over USB-C. Using it along w/ the travel adapter set, and the Covert Dock replaces almost three devices, rather than just the Nintendo Switch Dock. This one is known to be one of the safe docks. And you are missing the point of this product. It is supposed to be travel friendly as opposed to carrying the bulky box around.

I think there has been known issues with 3rd party docks bricking the switch. The Genki one is suppose to be one of the safe 3rd party options. Although this price is still more than I'm willing to pay.

I got this dock last month and it works great. No problems so far!

I recommend this much cheaper alternative https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B089N6YFCC/
Why is this post downvoted so much? Is the linked alternative poor quality/bad in some way?

$55 to fry my switch? No thanks. You can pick up official docks refurbished from gamestop or Nintendo for about the same price or cheaper gamestop had them on sale for $20 around the holidays and Nintendo has them for $40 regularly but Nintendo doesn't include the AC adapter for some reason.

Thanks op. Been eyeing this for a few months now. Didnt pull the trigger for the holiday sale, but finally decided to since I am traveling a lot this year. Code works for the bundle with the bluetooth adapter as well.

Until a Nintendo update then they make no promises. A normal dock isn't that big anyway and ppl have taken the guts out to make them even smaller. also it's a switch play it in handheld mode if you are traveling for Christ sakes. The ac adapter can be plugged directly into the switch for charging. you don't need a dock for charging only.
I think the point is for the switch to still be playable by multiple people while traveling without the hassle of carrying the box and charger. Playing multiplayer on the switch's screen is incredibly difficult for more than 2 people.

As expensive as this solution is, some people are willing to pay for the convenience.

Got this thru the Kickstarter and love it. Main reason for getting it was how compact it was and the lengths they went to make sure it wouldn't brick the switch. I was really iffy on all the third party ones (to many bricked systems) and the cost of the official dock. Didn't do as much traveling in 2020, so it just ended up being an easier way to move the switch between TVs in the house.

I backed this on Kickstarter and it is a wonderful travel dock. I also used to have the insignia dock that someone mentioned above and it too is great. I gave the insignia one away to a family member.
