that's pretty disappointing. But at the same time, I can only assume they're LG panels so presumably they would use the better binned panels in their own monitors compared to what they sell out for more budget monitors.
Keep in mind that I don't like all va panels from my experience with the monoprice and then the dell inspiron laptop that everyone got. I returned both because the monitor looked fuzzy/matte

Ya apparently there's only AUO panels at this size and resolution. Well, we'll see how it looks compared to my IPS monitors when it gets here.

Have been using it over 2 months as part of BF deal. The 35 inch is a solid work monitor. My son played Minecraft on it over weekend and liked it (compared to 22 inch 2016 HP monitor).

The onscreen split control is awesome.

I tried on MacBook M1 and 2016 MacBook. M1 - it does not work well since drivers in M1 are not updated but on 2016 MacBook and Windows 10 it worked really well.

The spectre one does not have vertical height adjustment. Given the size and weight of these massive monitors, I reckon this is an important feature to be having...

Done hours of research and it seems like this is a direct competitor to the gigabyte 144hz G34WQC, which is said to be the better monitor of the two but has been OOS for a while.

Both priced at $400.

Gigabyte 144hz, better srgb (120% and 85% rgb, better brightness)

As someone who mainly uses monitor for EVERYTHING (80% productivity, video/photo editing, 20% casual gaming) is the G34WQC worth waiting for? Does this LG do anything better than the Gigabyte?

Wrong. 4k 16:9 has 8,294,400 pixels. Its not by total pixel count its by horizontal resolution. 2560x1080= 2k, 2560x1440= 2k 3440x1440= 3k, 3840x2160= 4k

which dell inspiron? they are usually TN or IPS. the lower inspiron models (especially 3000) with TN panels look like hot garbage. that doesn't mean all TN are garbage, though.

similarly, monoprice is a value brand. they will tend to use cheaper panels. because one VA panel sucks, that doesn't mean all do.

with that said, VA panels may simply not be for you. some people can't seem to accept anything other than ips, and nothing wrong with that. buy/use what you like.

I stand corrected. I admit I was wrong. Seems a silly way to measure 4k when it's really 8k pixels which, btw, is an insane amount of pixels for a gaming gpu to handle which is how I look at it lol

How is 2560 = 2k? But 4K = 3860?
If 3860 = 4K then 1920 = 2k and 2560 = 2.5k and 3440 = 3.4k
I looked it up. For some silly reason they only count horizontal resolution and assume a 16:9 display which is kinda dumb as you have different ratios in the computer world.

4K is a really misleading term. It really should be 4X, because it is literally the same resolution as having 4 monitors that are 1080p. But hey, what's in a name...

If so cant recommend, the va panels in general all look fuzzy
/out of focus compared to ips panels. For now im dell ultrasharps ips but id prefer an LG ips for better user interface.
It really is a personal thing that will vary user to user. I came from Dell Ultrasharp IPS 1920x1200 displays to an AOC 34" 3440x1440 VA panel and I think it looks fine. But my "professional" use case is development, not something that is color sensitive. In gaming it's great.

Been looking to buy a new monitor. Ideally I'd like to get the gigabyte 144hz ultrawide but it seems like that's never coming back in stock. Given that this is from LG and from Costco I think it's a good tradeoff.
If I'm not mistaken, when the Gigabyte was announced we were hearing that it uses the same panel as the AOC. Specs seem to be the same, so that might be a nice value choice. The only complaint that I have about the AOC is that the OSD sucks.

IMO the LG should be an even better display, but being limited to 100Hz is a little low for gaming when you can get 144Hz for similar prices/just a tad more.
