Agree but only advantage to VA is response time / refresh rate. IPS is easier on your eyes and there are IPS panels with similar refresh rates. Higher price, sure but less eye strain headaches especially for marathon gaming sessions.

Not exactly true. It is more based on the horizontal width if the screen was cut down to a 16:9 ratio. Technically and 1080p resolution would be 2k which is part of the reason 4k was a dumb name to begin with. Ultrawide montiors add more horizontal pixels (and often add a W or UW in front) so it would make more sense to base it on the vertical pixels like they did for 1080p, 720p and note if they are ultrawide or super ultrawide (24:9 or 32:9 aspect ratios).

Personally I went all in on LG QHD USB-C at the expense of other features for price back in April. It's a bit overrated and the laptop charging isn't always reliable, I find myself keeping the power cord plugged in as well most of the time and I added a gaming laptop to my desk.... wishing I had a better all around display for that.
