Chiming in to say that this is one of the best video games ever made, and probably the best open world sandbox game ever. Every gamer should play it, and I envy anyone who still has to experience this game for the first time.
This is probably the best game that was ever created for the Nintendo Switch

Tried so hard to like this game. After 15 hours, nope... I know I'm in the extreme minority. I also hate the matrix movies, so there's that.

Playing through the "new" Link's
Awakening last month was SO much more enjoyable and less tedious.
I can understand not liking this game. I don't know how many hours deep I'm into this game currently (maybe 50-60 and maybe a third of the way done with the game?), but it just feels like 3/4 of my time has been walking from location to location or riding a horse or climbing. It's almost too big and spread out. I'm trying hard to push through and am starting to sprinkle in some play of other games, but I'm just needing more action right now and less of super tedious exploration.

Edit: I will say it is a good challenge and is more of an "adult" game vs Super Mario Odyssey which felt and had the difficulty level of a game for 6-8 year olds.

I agree with this too. I liked the old open world of Zelda (n64, windwaker) where different villages had different themes and story lines. I feel villages in BotW are very shallow and NPCs you don't really build relationships. Too much running between objectives with nothing to do during that transition except to monitor your stamina bar...

I play it on and off for the same reason - a lot of time is spent walking around or climbing things. I have 3 stamina wheels and still hate climbing.

Seeing these same games go on sale is a constant reminder of just how few first party Nintendo games came out in 2020.

I just got a switch. Do you see this game or Super Mario Odyssey or Luigis Mansion 3 getting any cheaper? I want all 3 games but I am not in a rush. But if they arent getting any cheaper, I will buy them now

Like what he said. Its a great game.

I'm a beginner and started with zelda. Never played console games before. Switch is a gift for my kids and now I use it more than them. Wink

$40 is probably about as good as you're gonna get. Maybe digitally will be cheaper eventually though? I'm new to the Switch too and couldn't understand why games were the same price as they were 4 years ago when you can get a game on xbox or PS a year later for $20. Nintendo keeps their prices where they're at because... they can. And because the cartidges are expensive. Even if they do go below $40 over the next couple years, don't expect to be saving more than $5 or $10.

I believe Target had it for $30 during the Black Friday two years ago. This game is great.

$40-$45 is usually the lowest sale price for a AAA switch game. On Black Friday, these titles have been as low as $30. I'd buy one of the three now and wait on the others as they can be found on sale from time to time.

I played SMO through twice to full completion. Definitely some very challenging bits, like that bridge you have to run down and then back underneath with the bullet chasing you. Non-stop action in SMO.

I bought this with 2 year warranty just in case.
Kaz I can't figure out for the life of me why anyone would buy a Protecton plan for a game?I have games from the Atari era that still work.and have games on just every system and have never had a problem with them.
