Playing through the "new" Link's
Awakening last month was SO much more enjoyable and less tedious.
If this game didn't have the Zelda name or skin, it would be an average middle of the road open world adventure game. But since it's Nintendo, and Zelda, the fanboys bow down to it. I'm a huge Zelda fan too, been playing these since I was 4 in 1987.
Brand new $60 Cyberpunk is $30 already

I feel you. I keep giving it another try but just can't get into it

I liked the first matrix movie, hated the rest. But this game, I love. Such an incredibly realized world. Very few games ever made have a world as massive and alive feeling as this game.

I personally love the size of the open world because it just shows the awesome scope of what Hyrule should have always been. If it were any smaller I'd get more bummed seeing the same places too frequently. There was a sense of curiosity and adventure with how large the map was when I first started playing.
Sunk in 150 hours and still not yet completed. I'm taking my time.
Nintendo games hold their value so well, it seems a waste to buy them digitally when you can basically rent them a year for free.

You are certainly in the minority. Empty open world and zero feeling of progression? Sounds like you played 3 minutes and quit. I despise single player open world games and this is the first one I've finished and thoroughly enjoyed in a long time. I'm not a Zelda fan boy by any stretch. Sounds like you wanted an OoT clone and didn't get it.
