Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

Walmart listing (shows no inventory; see note above) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-.../109707311

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

A Walmart Wireless Sales Representative will contact you to schedule an activation appointment when your new phone arrives at the location listed below.

For those who reserved and picked them up did you guys get the same message?
Ugh, that's the message I received too. I ordered for Verizon, not AT&T. If I don't get a call from Walmart tomorrow, I might try again with AT&T. What carrier did you choose?

Edit: My bad, I saw a message like that on Walmart.com when I submitted the order, but my email confirmations say that I have 48 hours to pickup. I'm gonna head over tomorrow and hope they are there.

So it appears that everywhere is out in my area. Although I saw an s10e for Verizon available. If I bought it outright could it be used on T-Mobile?

You DO NOT have to sign up for a service plan or installment payment plan to buy any postpaid smartphone from Walmart. The key to successfully buy any postpaid smartphone outright from Walmart is WARP WARP WARP.

So if have a couple phones reserved. Where is this WARP system and since I already have a reservation is it too late to get the printout barcode?

If so, then how do I get the right barcode if they give me resistance without upgrading/adding a line?

A few people have posted that they were able to buy it outright without activation from the reservation, so go ahead and pick up your phones and see what happen.

YMMV, if they force you to activate with a service plan to get commissions, tell them you are buying them outright with full price with no activation. Tell them to process the phones on the WARP terminal at the store as device only. It will print out a WARP order with a barcode, where they scan it on the regular cash register to complete the sale. They may have to do it separately for each phone on the WARP terminal. YMMV because most wireless employees will falsely claim that they can't sell any postpaid phone with no activation. Good luck. hug

That's asking too much. No offense but some Walmart employees have low IQs

I reserved 3 and got email confirmations. The store is 1.5 hours away. Do you think they can deny giving the phones to me for some absurd reason? I don't want to drive 3 hours for no reason

I reserved at two stores, got confirmation emails for both and went. Neither actually had the XS or XS Max in stock, the first one the electronics counter employee said the wireless employees all got transferred to Mountain View a while back, and they haven't sold contract mobiles in months. The second store simply had none - the employees were very nice and showed me all their stock areas, and there were no iPhones at all. They said they had them for Black Friday but that was it. The manager/lead even came and called their wireless account employees to ask and they said they haven't had iPhones in stock for over two months.

YMMV

When I picked up mine, I tried asking for a second one for my sister. The clerk was adamant that I could only pick up the one I reserved because there was a list of other people who reserved the phones and he didn't want to get in trouble. Maybe he wanted to keep one for himself, who knows. But I think you'll be safe picking it up tomorrow.

Thanks I'll prolly drive to the store. Did they ask you to activate? The weird part is this store had many for sale. I reserved mine and got confirmation email, and thought I'll reserve one more, and they were gone. Looks like a rep bought the remaining ones or something.

Was able to pick up one through reservation. I think once that post went up about reservations, everyone in the area did it. The clerk that rung me up said the reservation was new to him. I was at West Covina and there was a list of like 6 other people who are going to pick up the phones, so I couldn't get a second one for my sister.

No, they did not. The clerk that rung me up was a regular walmart associate, not the celluar people. Yeah...right before I got there, another off the clock associate was checking out with one of the phones.

Good to hear you got one! Did the clerk sell it outright or under contract?
