Tried to pick up two more at a different location and the rep was willing to sell them but they were ringing up at 499. He wasn't going through warp (didn't know how) so I guess that's why. Or they were prepaids?

those are probably unlocked version but not postpaid (but full price and no contract) version.

I bought 1 xs max and 2 xs on at&t just now. I tried to unlock all of them...for max i got instant approval from at&t but for xs it says imei doesn't match. I use mint network so wondering how can these be unlocked...anyone facing same kind of issue and got a solution to unlock?

it did happened. I saw the actual receipts from Apple and I ran gsx checks on them. I don't remember it clearly because this happened couple years ago. On the gsx reports showed the phones were unlocked on the dates they were first purchased at Apple. And somewhere in the reports also showed phones got locked to boost mobile after the dates they got the phones from Apple.

Thank you all. I was able to get 2 64GB XS Max's and 1 256GB XS Max without even doing an upgrade or activation. Warp worked, but for some goofy reason, my original reservations were "grayed out" in the Warp app...so I put in 3 new reservations right there while I was at the register.

The Walmart manager was SUPER helpful. Because she did me a solid, I returned the favor by buying the protection plans.

I was GOING to try to do more, but I didn't want to push my luck. Maybe a different walmart store? Not sure yet. I'm not looking to flip or whatever (too much hassle), I just wanted to get an upgrade.

I was originally looking for iphone 12's, but I haven't had any luck with getting a good deal with Verizon. I figure I can always get my $ back easily on these XS max's on trade in at a later date anyway. So for the cost of 1 iphone 12, I was able to at least do a reasonable upgrade on 3 lines.

I am waiting on cases and screen protectors, so I haven't tried to activate any of them yet.

This is one of the slickest deals I can remember, and I've been at it for a long time. Thanks !

Bought two xs 64gb $99. Without thinking, I told the guy I'd either use them on T-Mobile or Verizon. When I got home the paperwork says Sprint. Verizon sim worked fine though. I could make and receive calls. Will try T-Mobile sim next I guess. Maybe I got lucky?

If you do not put in the SIM from the carrier it's financed with, be aware that no other carrier can unlock it. Is this right ?

yea..i guess you went to 355 stonebrook pkwy store... that guy handled me in the morning and he was really nice...max was unlocked as per my experience so check that out..

Any idea why the original reservations got grayed out, or what you did different the 2nd time for them to go through? The same happened to me so I also made a new one at the register but that one also went goofy on me. I ended up leaving since they couldn't get the phone to ring up any other way.

no, you didn't get lucky as they are flex reseller locked meaning they get locked to the sim of first boot. so your phone is now locked to verizon. i guess it will unlock on it own after 60 days based on verizon unlocking policy. or you may try ebay for unlock service as there are couple of them selling verizon unlock service at $2. i did that and waiting for update as it says 1-3 days.

How to file an complaint with Walmart corporate office? I reserve an XSMAX at the TORRANCE, CA store. When I get their after 45 min driving, the guy at Electronic counter first said the girl working there is on lunch break, then told me the WART system is down, ask me to go back tomorrow, also strangely enough they only have ONE WART terminal instead of two in other locations. I ask for the team leader, and listened to more BS. Totally wasted of my time.
