Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

How to get sprint phone unlocked? If you place Verizon Sim during first activation, will it unlock? I heard it will work only for non sprint phones.

I picked up mine this morning (similar scenario where the Phone rep had left yesterday). He literally had no idea you could reserve the phone online. Luckily it was still there.

SO my advice, found out when the phone rep is there and try to get to him quickly before he accidently sells it to someone else.

I hate Walmart. Reserved two. Electronics department had no clue about reservations, same with the cell phone guy. Both were adamant you can't sell phone without plan. Couldn't even tell me what was in stock. Had a toddler in tow so I didn't want to get in a whole thing. Plan to just fire off a complaint to corporate.

Same happened to me I drove about 4 hours in total yesterday to different walmarts and they wouldn't sell

I think once you get the second email I believe the phone is unlocked and ready to accept any sim card. So no, it is not locked to tmobile, but you will be able to use it on tmobile, Verizon, or another carrier.

It will automatically lock to the first SIM that is inserted into it. For instance, if the first SIM inserted is ATT, it will lock to ATT.

if you go there to pick up a phone, and you are not a current sprint / verizon / att customer, do you have to sign a contract to obtain the new line (credit hit ,etc) or can you sign up for a plan without any contract on one of those services and cancel the same month, for example? You are paying full price, and not relying on any carrier financing here...so..? thanks!
