Great deal on a mid-range gaming laptop! I got it for $622 with military pricing but students and teachers can benefit from a discount as well. However, the i5-9300h and 2060 combo is known to have some throttling issues so you may have to undervolt the cpu and apply a curve to the GPU to control the temps. Other than that, this is a pretty solid deal for a 2060 laptop.

I have the Gateway and it's a great deal when on sale. With that this Lenovo has a better screen but a LOWER refresh rate (which matters for gaming), 4GB more memory and 250GB larger SSD. The different CPU installed gives the Gateway a slight bump but they are pretty close. On the Gateway, I installed an extra 8GB of ram to bump it up to 16GB for $35 and installed (2) 500GB NVME SSD in it for $110. On the Lenovo I probably wouldn't touch the ram but I would probably throw another 500GB NVME SSD into it if there is a slot available. With that being the case, the Lenovo wouldn't need as much money for upgrades at least for my use. The screen discrepancy is probably the deciding factor as the Gateway refresh rate will be better for high end gaming. HTH

Previously, I had ship date 2/9 with delivery date 2/8. I also got the "delayed" email from Lenovo this morning:
There has been a change to the estimated ship date for one or more items in your order and we are unable to ship them by the original date promised.

We are working hard to get your order shipped soon, and it will ship within the next 30 days. To view your revised estimated ship date, please utilize our online order status tool.

Using that "online order status tool" .. Looks like the item is set to ship 2/6, with delivery of 2/9. Perhaps the updated delivery date from 2/8 to 2/9 prompted the "delayed" email.. hopefully?!

Mine shipped on the 5th with expected delivery on the 11th. So delivery got delayed by a couple of days, which is not a big deal. I was just relieved to finally get some communication from Lenovo.

Just got the laptop early this week. Paid $639+tax with 38 cash back. It has a 9300HF so the battery life is bad with all time 2060 running. The screen is better than I thought and the charging brick is insanely big. Build quality is really good for a plastic laptop. For ~600 I have nothing more to expect from it.

Update: Got ours on the 11th and my son is absolutely loving it. It is really well built and super fast. The screen is pretty nice, as well. The fans can make a lot of noise, but they slow down if he plays games at lower settings or has one game open at a time. We haven't done anything to the settings yet, so it is on default settings at this time.
