I am going to order 1 online now to get it ship to my preferred warehouse in DE( tax free state) for free. Sometime my local warehouse doesn't carry this model in-store. I can pick it up on the date the new coupon book starts to enjoy other discount for instore purchase.

Surface Pro 7+ is out now on Microsoft's website. It looks like you can order it online as a consumer, even though it's supposed to be for business/education. I will probably stick with this as I do not need the extra battery life and don't game.

Was considering updating my Surface Pro 4 i5 to this because it's starting to slow down but this is essentially the same device with a 25% faster processor (looking at userbenchmark comparing my old i5 to the new i7). I'm really surprised nothing else significant has changed, size and weight are practically identical, battery life has improved a little, same 256gb SSD capacity. I guess it has usb-c now but overall this is hardly an upgrade over the older models, and I bought my Surface Pro 4 for less than this costs now. Am I overlooking something?

You can't order it directly from Microsoft. There's a link for "where to buy" on the Microsoft product page. It's being sold by the primarily business websites, CDW, etc.

It seems that 11th i5 is faster than 10th i7 and the price for suface pro 7+ with 11th i5 is very close to the sale price of 10th i7. I don't know why people still want to spend $1150 to buy a surface pro with 10th i7.
