Hi. I have 4 Vizio's. All rated higher than this by Rtings. Let me make this clear.
Their smartCast is a shit show.
Their customer support is non existent.
Many problems with apps and chromecast.
The most sluggish device we have are those 4 Vizio's. Even TLC 2 year older devices are smoother than them.
I would stay away from Vizio if you like controlling your vizio with alexa, if you stream content from your devices to the tv, and if you want good customer service.
But, if you want good color and good black for your Blue ray. Get a vizio.
Google or search reddit with the issues with smartCast. You would be surprised how it's being used by this company as "smart" app.

I paid $100 more for this TV back in November, and I don't regret it one bit. So this price is a real bargain. I do have two complaints though, and they're common and well-documented issues:
I can't get it to connect to Apple Homekit for some reason.
Local dimming must be turned to LOW. Medium or high causes flicking in the zones. That said, it still looks and works very well on the low setting.
Other than that, I can't recommend it enough. Looks amazing, and I really appreciate the variable refresh rate on the PS5.
The Vizio M8 Series Quantum 2020 is a good mid-range 4k TV. Like its predecessor, the Vizio M Series Quantum 2019, it sports a VA panel that can produce deep blacks for a great dark room viewing experience. It has an excellent HDR color gamut, allowing it to display rich and saturated colors in HDR content. Its response time is decent, input lag is low, and it supports variable refresh rate technology to reduce screen tearing when gaming. It handles reflections decently well and gets bright enough to overcome glare, but not quite bright enough to make highlights stand out in HDR content. Its VA panel's viewing angles are quite narrow, so it isn't the best option for large seating areas, as the image looks inaccurate when viewed from the side. Lastly, while it has a full-array local dimming feature, its sub-par implementation results in a lot of blooming around bright objects.
At the time of writing, this TV is difficult to find through most major retailers. We'll provide links once they're available. Our unit was purchased from Walmart.

I thought variable refresh rate on the ps5 isn't supported until later on this year?
Nope.your post was informative. I can't think of anything that need to be addressed. You have PS5 and I have Series S and X. I expect Xbox's console to work well with this TV.

Sorry, I meant to say VRR "for" the PS5. As in I'm looking forward to it.
