The only downside for the 700 is its battery life at rated at 20 hour compared to XM4's 30 hours. I find myself charging the 700 more often. Nonetheless, the difference in comfort makes it a fine trade-off for me.
I've been using the 700 ever since I got it and haven't touched the XM4 at all, as the 700's ANC/sound work fine for me with great comfort to boost. I feel like I will most likely sell the XM4 and stick with the 700 going forward.
I got a refurb Bose 700 through Bose's eBay store for $225 before tax with a 20% off coupon. It looks and feels brand new. I had the same experience buying a refurb QC35ii on Bose's eBay store as well so I recommend this route.
Go with the Bose 700 if in noisy environments. XM4 if in relatively quiet areas thus. Bose wins in comfort which is the result of having angled dust filters instead of touching your ears.

The microphone quality is bad, and no APT-X, otherwise great headphones

Waiting for the good reviews on Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. I have all of their buds and by far the Galaxy Beans sound better than XM4 but the ANC is much better in Sony. So for a plane flight - sony. For everything else - galaxy beans
