Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

Man I guess I'm lucky to get the lifetime back then too. It's been working great. I leave it on 24/7 on my linux machine and it never logs out.

I bought a $15 lifetime for proxpn as a back up and many months later they went under. But I got my money's worth anyway. Now I have a lifetime on VPN unlimited as the backup. If they fold in 6 months I really won't care because the wind scribe lifetime is paying for itself many times over. Good speeds, lots of connection choices. Hard to find ones that will work with real debrid but there are a couple.

I am pretty sure you can only watch from one IP address, unless you connect on a phone or tablet from the other IP. It does that so people can watch TV on their phone while on the go, but laptop and computers don't count as mobile devices for Hulu Live TV.

SlingTV is better at this, they don't care which IP addresses connect.

I'm not really interested in streaming video with the VPN. Privacy is the primary concern.

Yes if you are using the them from the same IP address from your home or where ever they are located but if they see multiple IP addresses(sharing your account with others) using the same account I think that's when the red flag comes up and they will send you a warning.
That doesn't exactly make sense because what if you have a server at home and you're also using it on your phone and you're also using it on a laptop where you are at a coffee shop they're all going to be different IP addresses

Very stackable!

WAAAAAY better than NordVPN - on par with ExpressVPN for a fraction of the price.

THIS is the deal I've been waiting for! Thanks OP!
I am not sure it is way better than NordVPN. I have used Private VPN, Torguard, 3 years of Windscribe Pro, etc. Also, had a one month of free ExpressVPN with a HP Laptop purchase. My Windscribe Pro expired so, while looking for a VPN, saw an ad for NordVPN here on SD, 1 year for $6.99. Used Paypal and tried it. I was emailed a login name/PW but downloaded software directly NordVPN. It works great, the fastest connection than any of the above mentioned ones.

Note that all VPNs of the mentioned VPN work fine but every once in while block everything and then one would not be able to access internet. And you have to uninstall the software, install it again and it works again. Sometimes having two separate VPNs can be bad also. My experience with Windscribe has been that it works but reduced the speeds significantly. It is a Canadian company so it can be forced to provide one's information if required by law enforcement.

Other major issue with VPNs is accessing emails on Google, or searching on Google. Most of the time it does not work.

With regretted hesitation, added another 3 years to my sub.

Like everyone else who did not do the lifetime, gosh darn it. Frown

Anyone have any experience with VPN + NHL.tv subscription? I live in a blackout area and read that you need to use a VPN so you can connect to a non-blackout area and watch NHL.tv without being restricted.

But I've been reading that NHL has been catching on and blocking VPN IPs -- is this true and is Windscribe a good VPN for that matter?

Been using Windscribe for four years now. It has only continued to improve with more features and servers. Never had an issue on my PC or phones when using it. Speeds vary, of course, but usually are more than adequate. I highly recommend.

I own both NordVPN and Windscribe and I can say, hands down, that Windscribe is light years ahead of NordVPN. Windscribe also doesn't pay for positive reviews or Youtubers to promote them. The money goes into their infrastructure instead, which is why it's so darn good. Smilie
I mean, sure, for your particular use-case. I consistently get 85-90% of my 400Mbps down speed using NordVPN. It's always on with weeks of uptime (I'll restart my computer before it loses the connection) and it never leaks the IP.

Please, tell me how paying more for Windscribe will help me? And if you can't, it's because I'm right: you'll find people who don't like any given VPN. It's all YMMV.

We haven't even touched on the fact that Windscribe is (last I checked) based in Canada, which belongs to Five Eyes. Yes, you're trusting any VPN not to keep logs, but I have more faith that a company based in a country without any laws compelling the release of user data than one that is. Because the fact is that neither you nor I can say exactly what data any VPN provider keeps.

You do you, man. Hopefully folks take your single review with the same grain of salt that they'll take my single review.

That was my experience as well. I was getting 480 mbps down on Spectrum, but only about 200 something once I connected through windscribe.
Recently switched to Frontier Fiber's 500/500 plan. Now getting around 375 down with Windscribe.
I suspect it has a lot to do with the lower latency on fiber.
I am already in frontier 500 plan. but what makes me curious is iphone is getting 300 but all other devices my laptop, pixel phones are much lower in 100 range. not sure how its different for different devices all connected to same wifi
