Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

How does this compare to Torguard? Apart from price (Torguard is $50/2yr on sale). I am wanting to know/compare Speed, Reliability, Features, Security and Privacy.

Is that when windscribe formed, 2017?
Some time in 2016, I believe. They sold lifetime for a year or two (maybe longer?), then shut it off. They got it right and it seems they're doing well enough to keep growing. I've been very happy with them for the past four years.

I love this company. I started with the free account, then saw a lifetime pro offer for really cheap, and bought that. However, it shows an expiration date of exactly 10 years from the date I bought the "Lifetime" voucher, so I guess even when they offered "Lifetime" it wasn't really "Lifetime" anyway. I am tempted to pick up an extra 3 years while it is cheap, because I know I want to keep them, I just don't want to pay the higher monthly costs when my "Lifetime" subscription ends in 2028 Frown

When it gets closer to the expiration date, just contact them and they'll probably add another 10 years.

How is this vpn for torrenting? How are speeds? I had keepsolid/vpn unlimited before and it was horrendous.

Edit: speeds are fast. I ended up buying it cuz why not after all these rave reviews
Speeds are good, and Windscribe supports port forwarding, which is a big plus for torrenting.

For anyone on the fence, do it! I got a lifetime sub in 2017 and Windscribe has become a near daily part of my life on my home router, mobile phone, and laptop.

Second this, Windscribe has this mentioned in the lifetime offer, their system doesn't support more than 10 years so you'll have to contact support to extend it for free

Thanks for the replies guys! I REALLY appreciate that. It makes sense they'd have to do that. I will wait until it gets closer to the Expiry date then. A lot can happen in that many years anyway.

Seriously, anyone thinking about choosing Windscribe, you can try a lot of it for free first like I did...and then choosing to pay for Windscribe is one decision I have zero regrets for. I've compared several others considered among the "best" in many ways (logs, leaks, etc) and when you get unbiased tests side by side with all the others, it really is hard to beat Windscribe even without taking the price into account (and price-wise they are killing it!).

I have people ask me for advice on VPN's and this one is always at the top of my list. I have it automatically activate anytime I use any public network or anything that isn't my own personal network, and I have zero complaints. Not to mention all the incredible features they offer. I think I'm going to get their DNS stuff too. And their sense of humor is off the charts and they're so real and down to earth...but their program is awesome. They deserve every penny.

Exactly the same boat here with you, up to the year my membership will expire. Really debating right now about extending my membership.

If you're on lifetime you don't need to extend. See the past few replies in the thread. Support will extend for you if you open a ticket.

Are you on a VPN?
Nope, and after I've tried to checkout so many different times/ways they've locked my account from being able to make any purchases. And now they're also preventing my PayPal account from being able to place an order on their site even after creating a completely new stacksocial acct and associating my PayPal with this totally new/different account. I have no idea why all this is happening. I was just trying to place the order for the 3 year plan with the same CC that I used twice on Stacksocial within the last 2 months (on 2 other vpn deals), but now it's failing for some unknown reason. Stacksocial is such a trash site, I'm never using that garbage dump again.

Edit: thumbs down for telling the truth huh

I have had Windscribe for the past few years from a lifetime deal. I had some speed issues in the beginning, but maybe issue was a small bump that didn't last more than a few days at most. I have had an issue with the latest beta update on the Windows app, but I went back to a stable version and no issues ever since.

Their beta channel can be hit or miss, but most of the time they release a stable version quickly.
