Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

Am I understanding the "Firewall" function correctly that if for any reason the VPN is disconnected, all internet activity will be stopped and any pending downloads will be paused/stopped?

I have been planning to use debrid for a long time now. So dont get this?
No it works fine with it. Real debrid blocks a lot of the servers from windscribe though so you have to connect to the New York server and you'll be fine. Just letting people know. It took me while to figure this out when I first started using windscribe. You can also submit a ticket with real debrid to get a server "whitelisted" but I have never done so.

I have the 50 GB free Windscribe and IPVanish and I can't really tell a difference but I didn't get too anal about it.
is it 50gb per month?

if not, then why not use the 10gig/month on the free subscription?

Is the FREE service "slower" than the paid service? I was trying to consider whether to jump on this deal instead of renewing with IPVanish. I signed up for the free service and my speedtest when connected was around 100 Mbps. I have gig service and get around 700-800 Mbps when running a speedtest while not connected to the VPN. IPVanish was slow as well but think it was around 200-300 Mbps...
No, the Free service is not slower. It just has fewer servers available, no port forwarding, etc. The speed is not throttled.

The slower speed with the free service could be a result of connecting to a server further away.

i just renewed/extended my subscription with this deal...but I noticed my "Member Since" field shows Jan 2nd 2020 now. Expiry Date added another 3 years so I guess that's all that matters.

Yes. It is 50 GB a month. Found the deal here a couple years ago and still going strong.

It went actually up to 60 per month with an additional 10 extra on top of 50. That's what I have for years now. But 10 is standard these days I believe.

I didn't have the 10 to start. Congratulations though! I use ipVanish and the 50 free for backup which I haven't needed yet.

There's something wrong with this site. I tried four different times across browsers and devices, but none of them worked. I sent a support email and was asked to send a copy of my credit card statement and photo of the card. That's insane. I finally asked a friend to purchase it for me and it went through just fine for him. I'm guessing they didn't like my billing address or something.

Oh interesting. I wonder if someone bought two of these it would stack for 6 years...tho that would def be a gamble with a vpn company.
How do you get your pro account as mine fail to work? it says my email already exists and I never used windscribe before in my life.

It works for all the normal streaming services.

It also helps protect your browsing history from being recorded by your ISP or mobile phone operator, so you don't have to feel so embarrassed about ordering a whole case of rosé during corona. Stick Out Tongue lol

Can be extra security when on wifi, in cases where some websites aren't setup to correctly encrypt your web traffic, or when using airport wifi.

So lots of good uses, I don't leave home without VPN. And in case you didn't notice i'm very passionate about Windscribe. Smilie
Does it work on multiple Devices? Does it change Hulu to other countries like Netflix ?

Great VPN. Fast and has quite a solid collection of country servers if you are trying to bypass content regional restrictions. I have bought a lifetime license for ~$32 few years back when Windscribe was just getting started and needed to attract users and it has never let me down. One of the best purchases ever!

Yep I rarely have disconnections on Winscribe but it has happened in the past. Browsing is pretty fast when connected. If you torrent, I hear people get around 100 Mbps download for that.
I haven't seen anyone else mention problems with their VPNs, so I must be among the few. I'm shocked this deal has lasted as many days as it has. If I could get a reliable working connection each time I tried, I'd jump on this deal due to the recommendations. However, finding time to spend multi hours debugging these types of networking issues is rare, and most likely I won't solve the problem before this deal ends. EDIT: Someone said the deal is supposed to end today. Hopefully I'll have it figured out by the next time a good VPN deal rolls around in a month or so.

If I could pay someone local $50-$100 to solve my VPN problem, I would do it, but most networking experts want $50-$100 per hour and it could take many many hours. They're not quite as bad as plumbers who you have to pay $100-$200 just for them to show up.
