YMMV Hyper Tough gas or Li-Ion string trimmers $10

$10.00

Picked one of the Li-Ion string trimmer (aka weed eater/weed whacker) models up at $10 in store clearance at 52302...had first seen it on clearance at $80 last week and guess they wanted them gone. Uses two 20 volt lithium batteries (included). MSRP was $114 and seems to be on clearance with at $75 or in other nearby stores...probably will drop further in the coming days where they remain in stock.

The 16" 2-stroke gas model had also dropped to $25 in-store clearance at the same store. Reg price was $74.

I threw out my back trying to get my gas one started last year...figured trying out the battery model is worth a shot at a deep discount.

Is the 40volt a good deal at around $30 thats what shows near me. Does Charger come with it or just battery?

Get a 4 stroke fuel injected, but not gonna be cheap.

If you only need it for light work (ie edging grass) and a limited space it's probably fine. The electric trimmer I got won't go through anything more than normal lawn grasses and dandelions. Even then it doesn't make it far. That's a Poulon Pro though, I'm happy to hear about brands that work better as I really want to go all electric.

Comes with two batteries and a separate charger that charges both batteries at the same time.

$30 is a good deal. Regular price was $100...it's priced at $74 at another store near me with some still in stock.

Figured I'd give this one a shot at such a deep discount. There's reviewers who said it lasts about 45 minutes per charge which is all I'd need. Of course there's over a foot of snow on the ground right now so it'll be awhile before this thing gets put through its paces.

Yeah...I don't need something that intense for a residential yard. Usually only takes about 20 minutes for me to trim all the regular spots.

Might end up chasing unicorns, one location that showed 2-3 in stock didn't even have gardening center, it's just two isles of most popular stuff and that's it. They only had one completely different trimmer and that's it. If I wasn't there already would have been a complete waste of time thanks to BS and Walmart inventory

Oddly enough, I'd first seen them last week when they were in the clearance aisle for $40...saw it had dropped to $10 but showed as OOS online but was passing by and decided to go inside and take a quick look anyway. Workers were reconfiguring a couple of aisles near clearance and had moved them from the clearance aisle to the back of the lawn and garden area. There were still a couple left. I've noticed that with other stuff that's on clearance in store sometimes will show up as OOS online...all the more frustrating. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
