It charges on your card after shipped. The orders shipped a week ago.

FYI. Amex declined 150 offer due to transactions happened after 4/4/2021 even the order placed before deadline.

Same experience here, Amex refused to honor the $150 offer. I placed the order on 4/04/2021 but my card wasn't billed until Steelcase shipped my items last week.

reviving a dead thread here, but we are just now 90 days beyond the 4/4 expiration of this deal. I didn't get the $150 credit. i placed my order on 3/8. I got the email from amex that said "thanks for redeeming your steelcase offer". then steelcase re-authed my card every week for a month. on 3/25, i got an email saying that orders have been delayed and mine was set to ship 4/12, beyond the expiration of this deal. these are expensive chairs. the $150 was a huge factor in me buying a chair this expensive. for them to delay the shipments to avoid paying cashback is shady AF, whether it was a real delay out of their control or not. how convenient that they only have a 30 day return policy so i can't even return this $1000 behemoth.


edit............ i opened an amex ticket and had to provide them with the email (that i luckily still had). they said they had no record of me ever activating the offer. they are escalating it and i have to check back within 3 to 5 days.

Do you have an update on this? I'm running into a similar issue. Just got the Gold Card last month and they had this same offer but with expiration on Nov 8. I placed my order last week and I did get an offer activation email from Amex

I'm trying to get Steelcase customer support to charge my card by 11/8 but I'm not holding my breath

keep all emails related to the transaction. I had to prove that I had activated and used the offer with the email. They had no other records of me activating or using the offer.

I just got off a heated call with Amex supervisor (offshore I think). They found that I activated the offer but after reviewing my case they refused to honor the offer saying the qualifying transactions fell outside the expiration date of the offer and there was nothing they could do. I'm gonna try my luck during US business hours and see if they can do anything for me otherwise I'm going to return my Steelcase purchase. I am so mad right now.

it's a scam amex and steelcase have going on. Amex starts an offer that's good for 60 or 90 days or whatever. Steelcase takes the order and puts a new hold on the card every week or two and then does the real charge when it ships just outside the 90 day window.

Yeah it's pretty frustrating to deal with but I was finally able to get my $150 credit today.
In case anyone else runs into a similar issue you should call Amex Digital Assist Escalations team directly at 1-800-297-7500 (available 24/7 but I recommend calling during US business hours to minimize your chance of cussing out the reps) and explain the situation (if you call the Amex general help line they may not know to forward you to this dept that can actually do anything for you). For me they were able to see that I added/activated the offer and only asked that I forward the order confirmation email from Steelcase to verify that I placed an order $750+. I could see in my "Offers" section that the Steelcase offer was redeemed after 7 business days and the credit itself posted one day after.
