R263s have been $199/ea in past sales, otherwise these all match the lowest prices I can recall. Over the course of a few sales I've picked up the R263s, RC263, and R162s to fill out a 5.1 system (with HSU sub). For the price I've been extremely happy.

Yes, the RC263 is worth the extra $50 and is a steal at $150. Make sure it fits as it's a big center.

Yes. Just finished a theater basement remodel. Came from a Jamo setup to the R263/RC263/R162s and the difference in sound is night and day.

They are aesthetically pleasing too. Here's my setup

For $150 I'd get 3 of the RC263 for a seamless LCR haha. Prop those monsters on some night tables. Great speakers.

Yes, I have the RX-A3000, my typo.

I did simple adjustments. I was finding my front speakers were louder then the center, especially during actions scenes. So, through the amp, I cranked up the center to 10 and the fronts, I turned to like 7.5. The backs are around 6. But that all depends on distance from your speakers too. I just kept playing around with the settings. And remember, when testing your system out, use a very good surround sound movie, like Star Wars, episode 1. That movie is one of the best surround sound movies made!

what would happen if i replaced the center channel of my HKTS 16 home theater in a box with one of these center channels? Would it overpower all the other speakers? i have it setup for music in my work barn so balance doesnt matter much to me.

I've got a 7.2.2 set up using the Pioneer AJ's with towers. Strongly considering upgrading the subwoofers from the SW-8MK2s to the R12s.

Would love to replace the center as well, but then have to upgrade the R and L too, which might be too large of a blip on the credit card statement Smilie

Has anyone upgraded from the Pioneer 8in subs to the R12s?

I have the Infinity Beta series 50 towers and Beta C360 center speaker which is the predecessor to these. Over 12 years old and still kikin LOUD. They have the same cmmd speaker technology as these reference.

For surround use, my experience is that the Yamaha YPAO does a very good job, better than any manual settings I have tried (before YPAO and similar technology was available, people were using multi-channel stereo but the result was never as good). You can adjust treble or bass manually, but the treble just didn't have the sparkle that the Hafler has - love those obsolete Hitachi metal MOSFETs.
