thx op. how'd you find out about this? never got an email from chase.
Costco gas stations aren't coded as "wholesale clubs" so you won't get 5% for that but this offer will get you the discount.
Money is money. Also the true value of these Freedom cards is transferring the "cash back" to Ultimate Rewards points and redeeming them on your Sapphire Preferred (+25% redemption bonus) or Sapphire Reserved (+50% redemption bonus).
Edit: Since I was originally on mobile...
The TRUE value in Chase Ultimate Rewards is in their 1:1 transfer rates to their ~13 or so travel partners. The Chase Travel Portal is pretty good if you have the Sapphire Reserve and you get 1.5 cents per point. By transferring you can get 3 cents or more. Sometimes even more during promos or specials. Although if you can get around 2 cents per point you are doing just fine with Chase.

WTF, this page was linked from Chase when I was logged in with my card, but it says it's not available for my card. WOW, I had to try THREE times before it worked. The first two times it said it wasn't available for this account. Stupid misleading error messages.
the terms don't explicitly state this, but I wonder if it is retroactive? Activate by 2/28 to earn on 2/1 thru 2/28. Discover card states their terms to be non retroactive
The Offer you are attempting to access is not currently available for your account. You will be automatically redirected to sign in to see the details of the offer this is now available.
Why can't we find this within the app or site via chase.com? Hate the idea of navigating through that URL. Frustrating, and potentially scary. Maybe fraudulent???
Just type in chase.com/mybonus and it takes you to the activation page. You don't have to click on any links from this post/thread.
Freedom Flex is mastercard, will it work in costco gas stations?
No, Costco does not accept mastercard at the pump, but you can buy Costco cash card online and use it at the pump. There is a 5% wholesale club bonus for Q1.
Not knocking you or the OP, in fact thanks to both of you for your info, but the best cashback card is SEARS citi mastercard. I originally got it a few years back when buying some appliances there and then used it sparingly until last year when they started offering me SIGNIFICANT cashback offers (statement credits).
Currently for this quarter I get 15% back on gas/grocery/restaurant ($500 to $1000 in purchases each month) and 15% back on online purchases ($100 to $300 each month). Both categories have repeated since last quarter and the gas one was 20% in the 3rd quarter of last year. They also email me other bonus categories from time to time. Very surprised when they started offering this because they were/are struggling financially, but I'm not complaining.
Thanks for your info. What specific card is this as it appears that Citi has more than one Sears credit card?
Can you give more details please. So, we get 5% cash back if we buy a Costco cash card instore?
The Chase Freedom category bonus this quarter is warehouse stores, so if you want 5x on gas (before this deal came out) would be to buy a Costco Cash card in the store at checkout then use the Cash card at the pump to get 5x there.
Now that the freedom's earn 5x at the pump for the month, this isn't necessary.
But unfortunately Freedom Flex seem locked out since it's a mastercard. You can use mastercard online but not in store.
