This is a good price by $91 compared to last year's price. If someone needs something badly now and they need 17", then this is a solid deal. (Not a whole lot 17" Rtx choices ever came at this price--but there have been better ones: eg.Dell scratch and dent refurb with 2070super, a past lenovo legion deal, and MSI gl75 with rtx 2070).
GE raiders is a higher MSI line, so features are usually nice and more expensive. (For heating issue, try to undervolt with software and consider repasting cpu).

But there are other 15.6" deals to compare against around $1100, Like new rtx30 series Asus laptop preorder, or spend $150 more for Gigabyte rtx 3060, and a Lenovo legion 5 15.6" ryzen7 rtx2060 can be found for less than $1100 on Amazon/eBay, and recently BB had a higher line MSI GS66 rtx2060 for 1099.99 which would be better overall than this.
Many other future deals, and Intel i5 choices for $300 less (Acer, Gateway)

Every CONS you stated above is absolutely normal with gaming laptops. A cooling pad (or a repaste) and a headphone would partially solve those those CONS
The battery life on this is shorter than even most gaming laptops just FYI. My Zephyrus lasts almost 3x as long for non-gaming stuff.

I had bought this laptop from Costco 3 months ago for $1399, the speakers gave up after 2 weeks, glad I bought it from Costco as they took it back right away, no questions asked. Overall good laptop, keyboard could be distracting if you want to focus on something. Not good for anything but gaming IMHO. Cannot be something that you can take to an office meeting or customer.. lol
If you want something discrete for business meetings, why even look at RGB gaming laptops?

Wanting a 17" is the tough part when it comes to finding deals.

For many I think the GL75 Leopard at Costco is a better deal. Same case and display with 1660Ti and smaller SSD for $150 less. https://slickdeals.net/f/14821093-costco-msi-gl75-leopard-17-3-144hz-3ms-100-srgb-i7-10750h-1660ti-256gb-1tb-16gb-950?v=1

I bought this on 12/31 online for $1199 so I am beyond my 30 days price adjustment for the $100, but I think I can return it in store. I haven't opened the box yet. Wondering with all the comments about short battery life and running hot if I should look for something else. Not looking for anything for gaming, just something that can execute stock trades quickly and can run a couple of other monitors. And of course at a good price. I think this may be overkill for what I need?
I purchased mine in December 23 and just got the email that i got approved for the adjustment. Give it a shot!

Thanks, I have about decided this computer is overkill for me for what I will use it for so going to just return and get something that doesn't get as heated and has longer battery life. Thanks for the reply!

not bad but at this price point would rather get a desktop with a 3080 video card for a few hundred more.

Just an FYI that this laptop is BIG. I looked at it and it's just too much a gamer laptop. Thick heavy red and angular. If that's your preference it's a good laptop at a good price.

I've got about 600 in Costco gift cards so id only be out 500ish for cash. Been a lifelong console gamer but wanting to make the switch to PC. Only games I'll really play are older RTS, Escape from tarkov, and few other newer fps. Is this a good for the money or should I opt for the series X whenever it becomes available?

I'd suggest one of the desktop deals with a 3060, 3070, or 3080 depending on your budget.

Like this 3070 system for the same price. https://slickdeals.net/f/14826469-1200-begins-02-11-alienware-aurora-r10-desktop-3700x-rtx-3070-16gb-ram-512gb-nvme?v=1
