not the best specs, not comparable to any gaming monitor at all. all in all perfectly fine for standard business applications, but very good for 34" wide

QHD stands for quad high definition, because it's 4 times the number of pixels of a high definition device. Typically QHD stands for 2560x1440 (3,686,400 pixels) versus HD which is usually considered 1280x720 (921,600 pixels, or 1/4 the total pixels of QHD). You can note that 720p (the second number in HD) isn't used much in TVs or desktop monitors and that 1080p (1920x1080) is also often just called HD (though it's also called full HD).

IPS does have better uniformity across viewing angles. So ultrawide VA panels could be worse in that respect, but not really an issue if you're sitting back a bit more or if the monitor is curved.
Also, can a generic, no frills Intel laptop can drive the full resolution of this monitor via HDMI?
