I know this probably gets asked a lot, but for someone that's never gotten into this series, is it safe to say you can start with 0, and than Kiwami which is a remake of 1? And then you can play 2 and then jump into this pack? I'm intrigued by the series with the latest raves about Like a Dragon. Thanks in advance!

Yes, since the story is continuous from 0-6 (kiwami 1 and 2 is a remake of 1 and 2). Like a Dragon is a standalone so you can play that without playing the other games. I would still recommend giving them a try, the story is really good

0 is probably the best place to start
(And is one of the best if not the best in the series)
Like a Dragon is turn based but every other game is the series plays more like an action RPG where the battles play like a 3D brawler.

I own all of them but I couldn't really get into either Kiwami game, the combat is really uncomfortable and was a deal breaker for me. I enjoyed 0 so much that I didn't want to give up on the series and am working my way through 3; I don't feel that there are too many holes if you happen to fall in the same boat
