This one or spend a bit more for the Costco one at $199?

Depends on how much money you want to spend and how often you'll be using it. The Costco one is better quality with the 304SS and will outlast this one.

Went on over to Walmart.com to check it out and ended up getting this glass fire table for $229 instead:

i got 2 of the firesense ones a few weeks ago. I have been storing in screened in patio and dragging out when we used them, would these items be ok to be left outside in the weather or nah?
Heck no. Get a stainless steel one if you want it to last in the weather.

Seems like we'd be better off getting the higher rated one for $10 more?

Yup that's what I got. No one really told me what the difference was but the reviews were far better on that

I purchased one from Walmart B&M around 4-5 years ago for $49 on clearance. The first year I had it, it blew over in some high(ish) winds with a full tank. Store it or find a way to secure it in windy weather. Don't be like me.

Maybe I am missing something here but as heat rises doesn't it seem counter intuitive to have the heating element above your head, particularly outdoors? Can you shorten the upright?

I did, however Walmart employees (at least in my area) seem to act like you're asking them to run a marathon nowadays when you ask them to check inventory. I think their inventory API and dealseekers are causing them a lot of headaches.

A few weeks back I went to one after a $39 Bissel steam cleaner deal came up and was reported as being in stock. I ran into three other people seeking the same deal, phones in hand checking UPCs on the shelf. Then I went to the nearest Walmart employee to see if they would check stock and they actually rolled their eyes and told me that I was the fourth person to ask them in the past hour.
Well don't leave us hanging. I'm still looking is the steam mop worth it?

Yes I bought that one too. The good reviews on it justified spending another $10 on it

Yep, it really is inefficient way to do it but I think a lot of these were more designed for people standing near them rather than sitting. In that case, you end up pretty close to the element. I'm sure you could rig a way to make it shorter but it isn't built that way.

The tank/LPG/regulator is freezing up, that is why you are getting reduced output after running it awhile in the cold.

The higher the output, the colder it gets and faster you lose output, so I run mine at the lower possible setting. Push comes to shove, you can have a separate tank indoors and swap them out after running it awhile.

I bought two of these earlier in the winter to be able to spend time with people while still being outside and socially distanced. For context, I'm in Michigan and we had a couple over while it was around 25 degrees out. Everyone wore a hoodie or lighter jacket and were pretty comfortable, though any wind will destroy that. At full blast we get around 4 hours of run time. It uses about half a tank each in that time. It's weird, I'm assuming as the volume in the tank drops, the pressure must drop and that causes the flame to go down. Totally worth $110. There were minor dents on one unit, not too bad and I don't really care. Fairly straight forward to assemble. Happy to answer questions.

In a month or two you're going to see these getting cleared out. Wait if you can.
