Please note: This Lenovo Legion 5 Model: 90NC00JJUS has a better 150W AVC ARGB CPU cooler and 650W 90% PSU vs the previous $700 Lenovo Legion 5 Model: 90NC00JBUS deal; which had a 65W Taisol CPU cooler and 400W 90% PSU

It's strange thats what I thought too. I bought 5 lenovo computers from different slickdeals. 3 in 2016, and 2 in 2018.

1 has died, one has mobo issues, and another is giving me random blue screen errors.

Lenovo was no help at all, even within warranty.

I got the I5 with 1660 super at 700 which is a good deal. This is also a good deal as well. For me, the 700 version is fine for the gaming I do which does not require killer graphic card. The I5 with 1660 super is a sweet mix for 1080p gaming.

Still, at 1000 bucks I think I still would have stuck with 700 unit. But I buy this unit over any bestbuy cyber crap or Dell computer. Nice to have 4 year warranty.

You cant lose either way. Pickup a hot dog and coke along with churro and call it a day.

Hey Marc --

Yes this will, and it will at 1440p.

To give you some perspective, I just downloaded fortnight today, I have a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor. Totally maxed out I am getting 100 FPS +. My build specs are about the same processing, ram and storage. My GPU however is a GTX 970 aka a dinosaur (amid a great one) 3 generations old, it is about 40% less powerful then what is offered here. If I were to guess., you would get about 150 FPS - 200 FPS maxed out at 1440p with this rig. Probably upwards of 250 FPS @ 1080p, enough to burn your eyes. This PC just for fortnight is total overkill.
that's a lie; a gtx 970 will not run fortnite at 100 fps at EPIC SETTINGS MAXED OUT AND at 1440p resolution... why are you telling people lies?....

Looks like a solid deal. Best Buy has a similarly spec'd Cyberpower PC with a 3060ti that comes in stock every now and then for $1300. Is that card worth the $300 premium over this one?

Yeah I learned an important lesson when I bought a powerful $2,700 computer for 3D modeling and rendering in grad school: don't spend that much on a computer, but if you do, don't get a Lenovo. The motherboard died soon after the warranty expired.

Yes, because you're not only getting a much better graphics card, you're getting a non-proprietary motherboard and power supply (and probably liquid cooling), which means you'll be able to upgrade parts over time or overclock cpu, gpu, and ram.

He might not be, a 970 and depending what cpu he has can run fortnite at 100 FPS at 1440 with maxed out setting per these benchmark samples.

https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCG...ax.1440p.0

Not nice to call someone a liar when you clearly dont know any better. The average with the 970 is just around 70FPS, then you add ram/CPU to the mix and you get variations of +- 30 FPS.

Never cared for Lenovo , Hp is hit or miss 50/50 chance you will get a good one . Dell is decent at best but at least they stand behind their stuff . Asus ,Acer and iBuyPower f (used to be Alienware before Dell bought them ) Digital storm looks promising ,also Falcon Northwest gaming PCs. I only use Asus motherboards or their sister co. AsRock , CPU Used to be intel i7 but Amd Ryzen looks to be hot , Antec cases and psu's, Video card EVGA (limited lifetime warranty ) no less than the 6 series Ti edition ,memory Corsair and Gskill if you want bang for the buck , Hdds Western digital for spin ups !

Hello... sorry nub question: Can the pc play the Call of Duty and Microsoft Flight Sim? Looking to replace an aging laptop that my brother uses. His friends has PCs that play those type of games and they are inviting him but too shy to tell that his current setup is incapable. Tia!

I have always favored Lenovo and HP over Dell. I used to sell IT equipment to businesses and Dells were always the cheapest but also worst quality. That's one reason businesses favor Dell, because it's cheaper to own in the product lifecycle. From a retail perspective though, you want your product to last and stay life-new long as possible, and I've found Lenovo/HP to have more longevity.

I will say though that those differences are narrowing. I am using a Dell 32" gaming monitor as my primary work/gaming monitor, and it's my first personal purchase of a Dell product. I can still tell that it's of a cheaper build. While the display is beautiful, the case creaks when I move it and there's a "pop" sound when I hold it on one edge, meaning the case isn't a perfect fit. I've never experienced that with other top brands.
I run a small IT company and after 15 years of dealing with all types of consumer and business hardware, Lenovo hands down has the best quality/consistency combo. I've sold 100's of Lenovo's and I've maybe had a warranty issue with 1.

Just got this for $1199, it is in transit. Price adjusted with Costco.com to save $200. Thank you for the heads up, repped.

Planning to eventually upgrade to a 3060 or 3060ti for a more fluid 1440p 144hz experience. Till then I am running some games at 1080p instead.

I follow laptops and gaming computers and you have posted this question on just about every thread for the past week. Legit trying to help (teach a man to fish): You can literally Youtube search several videos of this and other configurations playing just about any game with various graphics settings enabled. I would recommend that.

Yeah Ive been banging my head if I should get him a laptop or a desktop pc instead. My friends told me to get a laptop for portability and he can also bring it to school. Some said to get a desktop pc instead so that he can do upgrades. I had pre-ordered on BB Asus Tuff that will be available on March (my bros birthday).

Ordered the Dell XPS for $590 from the Slickdeal a few days ago. Now I am debating on cancelling and ordering this instead.

I like the 4 year warranty from Costco and delivery in a couple days. Of course the specs are better on the Lenovo but is it work the extra $400?

Primary use would be photo editing, flight simulator, and surfing SD.

I like lenovo as a brand. Growing up I had so many issues with Dell and HP computers that I ended up switching to Lenovo computers in college, never went back. They don't bloat their computers with as much stuff and I've never had hardware issues. My whole family uses Lenovo now. This is just my experience though.
