Is it required to download the app to operate and use? Don't want no random app on my phone

Lol they raise the price and then offer the coupon to make it seem like it's on sale. Fake sake.

If you think really really hard about the color you want, the LED strip will read your mind and change to that color.

They took a page out of Dell's book. Mark it up, coupon/sale code it back down.

It was a valid question. Take the bitterness elsewhere, hinny.

It's not random if you search for the govee app

One of the comments says H6141 supports remote the other one doesn't.

I have these. Bought before the holidays for like $18. They work well enough and do require the app to be used (or tied into Google home, Alexa.) The app keeps getting updated with features so that's a plus. I have so many other WiFi things that just have a dumb app that never gets updated.

I love the Govee smart LEDs. Quality is great and I got them to integrate with Smartthings. I'll have them on the desk of every family member now after today's purchase.

So what you're saying (as implied by your "or" statement) is that they are detected directly by Alexa/Google Assistant? No need for another app if using strictly w either of those?

Sort of. You need the app so you can set them up initially and then link them to GH or Alexa. After that initial setup you don't need to use the app anymore.

Oh ok, thanks. Have you tried uninstalling the app and seeing if they still work after that?

I dont want any excess apps snooping around
