When did computers start costing the same as a car down payment?
Since always. In fact, computers today are cheaper than ever. Back in the 90s, you would easily spend $10K for a high end desktop PC.

The Apple II, released in 1977 cost $1,298 for the base configuration, which is around $5500 in today's money.

Why if you connect to Ethernet?
That's what I did. The delay from the last round had to do with upgrades.

That case design doesn't look great for cooling though.

Good deal for the card though.

Let's not pretend that prices aren't atypically inflated right now.

I've been looking at various deals on 2060, 2070, 3070 over the past weeks, after resigning myself to buying a pre-built gaming PC (I'd prefer to build my own), and not being too interested in buying something 2 product cycles behind for inflated prices, I was super happy to see this system.

Upgraded to i9/16x2/1TB/intel-wifi6, it's about $1k more than it "should" be (and a 3080 would have been fine, or waited for 3080 Ti), but who knows what availability will be like over the next year.

Who is pretending? What part of my reply makes you think that? I only pointed out that high end computers with top of the line parts have always been expensive.

Anyone who thinks a system with a 3090 is going to be cheap are the ones pretending.

Silly fact: You can get four real AR or AK type rifles for the cost of playing FPS games on this Casual Gamer PC.
But can you find ammunition for them?

I was just about to buy the card for $2200. but hell man for $600 more for a complete system i might as well get this and pay monthly instead of $2200 cash that guy wanted who i was suppose to meet. Best deal for me. Paypal credit card 0 interest 6 months sold me on this.

This is an interesting fact. I remember my brother getting a 2600 dollar laptop back in the early 90s. Had these really cool open bass ports on either end. An equivalent laptop now would run a few hundred. My have the times changed.

At approx $10 / day profit right now for ethereum mining on the 3090 card, you could recoup a fair bit of cost in a few months if you mine while not using it. Not sure if the warranty would cover any wear to the GPU but the $320 3 year warranty might be worth it

It is expensive at about $1.05/rd. (after tax and shipping) for 5.56, but it is available online at this moment from a major retailer.

You'd probably want to open the case aim a box fan at it to keep temps in check. Thanks to Elon, the 3090 is now $12/day. Also thanks to Elon it'll be even harder to get video cards now.

On another note, I wish the other components in this thing were worth more so I could justify buying this for the 3090. There's maybe $500-600 in parts in this thing.

Would you pay $1000 for the rest of the PC without the 3090?

If the answer is yes, this is a good deal.

If the answer is no, this is not a good deal.

3090s are not hard to find. Believe it or not, there isn't a line of people who want to pay 100% more than a 3080 for 5% more performance.

Sadly these 30 series cards aren't. Anywhere.
