I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.
Considering the street value of even a used 3070 is north of $800 right now, this should sell out in all of about 6 seconds.
7 replacements? Your persistence is commendable.

EVGA is selling 3070's if available for $600 new.

"the value of a used 3070 on the street is $800" you said earlier.

So a used 3070 on the street for $700 is suddenly a deal because they normally go for $800? This is the dumbest shit I have ever read. These aren't farking collectibles. This isn't a rare pokemon. More and more of the same exact thing will continue to be made and sold at a cheaper price. You are overpaying for convenience, not value.. Arguing otherwise is idiotic.

You are getting whatever proprietary garbage Dell throws in here to build at the cheapest possible cost. A last gen CPU that came out in July 2019. Only 16gb of ram that runs under 3000mhz. A random 500gb hard drive and some cheap piece of shit PSU that caps out at 550w. On top of this I'm sure it will encounter throttling issues and poor thermals because these prebuilt crap always do.

This is an awful computer, highway robbery.
So link a better deal then

And send a link to the video card that is in stock and cheap as well.

Yes, you have to call. I upgraded the RAM to the 3400MHz because its the same cost to buy the RAM on its own anyways. Total came to $1330 before taxes.

I used the chat. I didn't upgrade anything for the extra $30. That was just the price. However, it looks like I'm getting the liquid cooled CPU while the deal on the 11th does not include that.

Are you modifying the one on this post or just randomly searching the other Alienware options?

well i didn't say anything about any 3070, but that's besides the point. but going off your example anyway, let's say that the cheapest 3070 you could find anywhere was $800 and that it's been that way for quite some time. now the price has reached equilibrium (where supply crosses demand). if that price suddenly drops down to $700, then by definition that is a bargain.

now, that's different than if the price were to fluctuate heavily (say, between 600 and 1000 with the average being 800), and it's only been $800 for a short period of time. if it then drops down to $700, while that's still below average, the high variance would suggest that you could do better.

it doesn't HAVE to be below MSRP for it to be a deal, because basic economics (supply vs demand) will trump any MSRP.

so my point is that prices and "deals" are relative. similar to the way stocks or assets work. if someone tried to sell you a bitcoin for $10k in 2013, you'd say they're nuts, and you wouldn't buy it. but if someone tried to sell you a bitcoin today for $10k, you'd still say they're nuts but you'd buy it in a heartbeat.

you can stick to your understanding of economics if you want, but if you're trying to purchase something that's in extreme demand and low supply at the price that YOU deem fit, then you might end up waiting for quite some time. not that that's wrong, but that's just the reality.

and you calling all the components essentially garbage does not detract from the fact that anyone can have an excellent gaming experience with this pc at this given price.

Ugh I'm being quoted $1330 due to this being "offline" pricing . Feel like the rep jacked the price up on me for being nice.

My rep told me there wouldn't be cpu liquid cooling but the price was $1230. He said I'd need to pay $150 extra for the 1000w psu and cpu liquid cooling. I went ahead and did the base configuration and see I did get the cpu liquid cooling. Very pleased if that's the case for $30 more and don't have to fight the bots.
They're selling over the phone at this price? Apologizes but this is pages long and it's hard to read all this at this point.

I got killer WiFi 6 and liquid cpu cooling both added bringing total 1233.54 pre-tax and free shipping. Pulled trigger on it.

I logged in to my Dell.com home account from mobile phone. Clicked chat icon from mobile Dell website and referenced the deal door buster link.

Thanks! Gladly pay an extra $50 for not waiting for a loading page and similar heartache. I still have PTSD from all my PS5 attempts.

I have an Alienware R11 (Intel 10700 + 2080S) from a BF deal in November. The stock fan system was loud under even moderate load. I added a Corsair H60 water cooling system and a Corsair ML120 Pro fan (~ $100 total) and now it's almost silent at idle and unobtrusive even under gaming load.
Thanks for the answer, repped!

No mods. I sent the rep the link to this deal and the price today was $1230.

Does anybody know how I can go about customizing some of these options? I'm looking to add a couple of things and then try to call in and see about getting a reasonable price as I'm sure these things will fly as soon as they can become available.

I've never replaced stock fans, if I get this R10 deal would I be able to also easily put in an H60 and ML120?

Just chat with online support for the different options. Go separately to Dell.com for aurora r10 to see customizable options. Then say "yes" or "no" with the price they quote you. I think somehow I got signed up for Dell rewards too (bc I was already logged in and used same email account)
