Use "cracked screen" as trade in. People fight with them when they claim non-existing crack, if you send one in with DEFINITE crack, they will disqualify it.

My wife's phone has small black dot at the side of the display (literally half circle size of a pin head which does not light up) which she never notices (as her eyesight isn't too good) but I can not unsee it once I saw it. Even though their main questionnaire does not ask about the "dot", the T&C states specifically that a black dot or pixilation will be cause for disqualification as trade in. I may have to trade it in at T-mobile store and hope the guy looking at the phone does not notice the issue.

How is this a great deal? You're basically giving them your "eligible" phone which is worth $50-700 in exchange to pay for MSRP phone. When in fact the Note 20 have dropped in value and is only worth less than $700 on many used mint condition. So you give them your $500 phone in exchange pay market value prices. Not worth it. Go and look up swappa and other sites you can buy the same phones mint or new condition for the same prices without a trade in.

I think you are correct but for those who trade-in their phone every year, this is a good deal to get a current model and some additional accessories with it.

If the phone should be $899 without trade-in and then add your trade-in to lower the price. Someone with a iPhone 8 should be able to get this for $500. Because used Samsung S20 drop 1/2 in value already so S20 Note should be around 70% value right now.
