S21 Ultra + Galaxy Watch 3 - S10e trade-in = 586.62
I am also getting RAK 10% cashback and the the Samsung cancellation 10% refund. So the net should be $470 when said and done. I am going to sell the watch for hopefully 200-250. So the phone will cost 220-270 net after trade. I purchased the s10e on ebay for $260, so the actual total cost of a new S21 Ultra will be less than $530. I think it's pretty good. Anyone done better?
Update 2/22/21: Thanks to Amazon selling S21 Ultra for 999.99, I was able to get Samsung to price match. They will issue $200 refund when the phone ships (and I chat in). So the net cost will be $330, fingers crossed. Slick as hell!

Doesn't matter why you cancel really. When they say they will send a request to cancel the order, you just say wait, what if you would keep the order, what can they do to make you keep it? And they would offer you the 10% then.
I just tried 2 different chat reps and both were ready to cancel without any discount. Then I was like "oh...let me think about it and I'll chat if I change my mind".
Not complaining though. I have a cracked Note 9 (repair is $230) so Samsung trade-in for $200 along with my EPP discount and healthcare discount, the total came out to only $700 with taxes with the FREE headphones ($150 samsung credit).
And I opted for the 2yr Samsung credit so it's only like $35/month) with zero interest.

Background info:
I bought a used like new S10+ on ebay about 2 years ago. I recall I couldn't unlock the phone because the phone came up as "active on another account". I asked the seller and he said he would contact att to do it. Well let's say time passed and I forgot about it.
All these 2 years...phone works great on my personal att account. Only issue is I cannot unlock it. It's possible the original eBay person still has it on his account for whatever reason.
Now let's say I send this phone that works and has a clean imei number (checked via swappa) to samsung as a trade in.
Will they decline my phone even if it works, it's mint (has been in case and screen protector day1 and it was mint from original ebay person) yet cannot be manually unlocked via the att portal?
Samsung's FAQ states you can trade a phone still being payed but you will obviously need to pay those fees. And if it's leased you can't trade it. But how would I know why I can't unlock my phone from att? I have no clue if the previous ebay seller just is being stubborn and won't remove it from their account or maybe they are still paying it off? I doubt it since it's been 2 years. Isn't a normal phone plan like 24 months‽
Please advise if possible. Much thanks!
2) You can request ATT to unlock it as non ATT customer but SS does not care phone is lock or unlock, financed ...only phone's condition and blacklist status.
3) The phone is still active in other account: When the previous owner use the non ATT phone in his account line, the line still shows the old phone profile (make, model, IMEI). For example I use a unlock Note 20 Ultra (bought at SS) in the line which opened with the Note 9. Now my line still show the phone I used is Note 9.
