i looked on reviewes to find out real quality of display and design/build (such as https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...800.0.html)
Lenovo won the race from my prespective
In other reviews, I have read that Lenovo's customer service is super bad - so that has kept me from getting one. I'm not sure how accurate that is, though. Would love feedback.

I just bought the other Slickdeal Levono i7-11th Gen 15.6" laptop for same price from Costco.
This looks to be a better spec. Anyone have any feedback which one is a better, faster, work laptop?
Can you share the Levono deal you bought

This was the Lenovo deal. Good chance it comes back in stock. I went with the HP though.

screen is not super bright. I am having difficulty installing a software on there which I have repeatedly installed on multiple desktops and laptops. I am testing bettery life today. Build is ok. not stellar, not bad. It really helps if you are a touch typer. if you are not, the keyboard is hard to see and decipher letters. will post more info later.
ok. first day of use, 6 hours and 20 mintues of a web based application, on wifi. run the first 5 hours on full brighness, after which it reached 20% and went in to power saving mode. had the setting on battery one notch back from max performance.
So far, I am thinking worth it to wait for a 10th generation LG laptop for 900. much better battery life and screen. I am using this for web based application, and I think a 10th generation i5 or i7 will be quite adequate. I may try it on zoom later.

Just received this laptop yesterday.
Charging via USB C works! I used the charging brick from MacBook Pro 16'
Anyone has coil whine(high pitch noise) on their unit?
Mine has it, and it gets worse when the battery is fully charged using the adaptor.
It's coming from under the left palm rest area.
When it's not charging, I can barely hear it.
Charging via USB C is less noticeable compare to the 45W adaptor that came with it.
Really like everything about this laptop... speedy and fan barely comes on, when it does it does have high pitch noise too from the fan.
I'll try to solve the coil whine issue from my unit, if I can't solve it, I'll need to exchange or return it... can't handle the high pitch noise..

I just got mine as well.. No coil whine. Not a bad lappy for the $. Build quality is on par for what you would pay for a mid tier model. Has some flex on the keyboard and on the top lid, but I'll be using this docked with an external monitor and keyboard so not a deal breaker.

Can this run two 4k monitors at 60hz? I'm planning to use this mostly as a desktop with occasional use while traveling. Thanks!

On paper this ASUS Vivobook seems similar to the Costco HP pavilion ryzen 7, which one is a better computer and why, which one would you buy?

It seems like there are mixed reviews about these HP pavilions, even though it has some of the better hardware - has kept me looking instead of buying

If you have a Kill-A-Watt meter, can you measure the laptop to see if it draws any watt after do a shutdown of the laptop, as in power off, not sleep?

Ryzen 7 3700u vs 7 4700u
250 Nit vs 200 Nit
Touchscreen vs non-touchscreen

Keyboard on Asus much better tho, if you do any coding. I could not live with the KB on the HP. Speaking of, anyone know if any of these run Linux well?

this is not true. I bought a similar HP laptop during blackfriday for $400 and the keyboard is excellent! what I'm curious about is if this hp laptop have a power draw when OFF using a kill-a-watt meter.
