Yeah but when you get groceries or food delivered the cost for delivery is modest. Ebay and Amazon are crazy for a slickdeals shopper.
Can you get food delivered from hundreds of miles away for cheap? Microcenter savings are not typically large margins - if you were to factor in shipping costs for the distance, that probably cuts out 90% of the advantage.
Second the opinion to go 10850k, you won't need to think about it for next 5 years at least and makes sense when Z490 are still expensive and surprisingly scarce
Unpopular opinion, even at this price probably still better to get a 5600X considering its small lead in most titles and single core productivity software. Combining with cheap B450 mobos it's likely saving you more. Also most Micro Center seem to have boat loads of open box B550 and X570, you can have great deals. I've bought several they are literally just "open box", one time they even upgrade me a new one since they sold the one I reserved. The -$20 mobo deal applies to open box items too.
But all and all I'd go with 10850k with a mid-tier Z490, it's an amazing value.
What kind of performance difference is there between this and an i7-9700K? Just got one of those for $170 off eBay but I haven't bought a motherboard yet.

Well for starters this one has hyperthreading so it's more efficient with 8 real and 8 virtual cores. The 9700K is still a good chip though with 8 real cores.
You got an awesome price on that 9700K as they're still going for around $250 on average...

I got my i9 for $350 the other day. Years ago it would be $550.
Thank you AMD!
You will never look back again.
The 11th Gen will only have 8 cores, vs 10 now.
