The black one has been at this price ...I got it last time (3 weeks ago) ... If you want fan noise it is great very loud... I run it on an Industrial fan sound.. for my Tinnitus... I also use my phone with rain/ ocean App.

Why can't just ask Alexa or Google to play white noise! I mean who doesn't have a smart device at home anymore! LOL

It really isn't the same. Dohm (moving parts) or Lectrofan (no moving parts) are the only two that produce this effect: best in show, and state-of-the-art.

The best comparison I can give is that if the Dohm or Lectrofan are like the Sun, then your smart device is like a 'happy light' or artificial light: It kinda does the trick, but its not the same.

Anyways, this is a standard 'deal' price for this, they don't get much cheaper than this unfortunately. There are micro versions that do produce great sound as well, and the cheapest I've really seen them is $16-18, but they are usually refurbs.

I decided that I'd stick with Lectrofan b/c I had an issue with one of their devices & their customer service took care of it before they even sent my reply email, with fast shipping. Great company, highly recommended.

Bought one a few weeks ago. For whatever reason, the Micro feels like a fuller sound to us. This is okay, but it just doesn't have the deep and blanketing sound we were hoping for from a bigger unit of the same maker.
