I got a similar one for $14AC yesterday on Amazon. This one is an older product with more primitive design.

I cannot find the coupon code anymore. Perhaps it expired yesterday.

PC Magazine's list of the best mounts. This ain't on it. I was not impressed with a different Squish unit, also on deep "discount." You're getting what you're paying for. Plus, large and protective cases like OtterBox won't fit.
pcmag dot com/picks/the-best-car-phone-mounts (SD screws up the url)

In fact, I couldn't find it on any "Best" article listings.

By the way, today's larger and heavier phones can break your air vents.

Google pcmag car mounts. I tried posting the link here once I found it, and the link led to the same wrong site. Not sure what's going on.

For years, I had a "primitive design" wireless charger (which I assume you're referring to the non-motorized arms?), and it worked very well with one flaw that ultimately doomed it. The charger plug was pointing to the back, which meant that the plug eventually bent. However, the gravity-actuated arms were perfect and worked perfectly. No waiting for the motor to start, no problems with the power being off.

Anyway, I searched for a new one, and the wireless charger market is ridiculous, especially if you want a vent mounted one. All seem to share a stupid design decision -- automatic, motorized arms to grip the phone. I finally bought one, and the motorized arms are a serious PITA. Mine won't function without the car on (no power from the plug) and sometimes won't work with only the accessory power on, meaning the windows and radio, etc, but not the engine. I've wrestled my phone out from the carrier on more than one occasion.

As for the vent mounts potentially breaking the fins, the solution is simple -- mount the phone at the bottom of the vent where the frame of the vent supports the clip. No undue stress on the vent fin that way.

Looks like I'm ordering this one. The one I ordered last year (the replacement) is faulty and won't charge my new S21 now, and the price on this one is great compared the alternatives, which run closer to $40.

I have had this model in my vehicle for 3 years. It has worked with my galaxy S8 flawlessly. Fwiw

I have a similar model. The sticky is squish because it doesn't even stick on clean surfaces or windshield. Decent but same issues as other cheap mounts.

Make sure your car adapter is capable of QC if you expect to get QC with this device. I owned this charger and it randomly stopped working. I couldn't find warranty info on the page so contacted Squish. They informed me that the warranty was 12 months and since I had owned it for 12 months and 3 weeks, they would not replace it. Just something to keep in mind.

Hey man your link seems to be broken, do you have any recs for big phones? Honestly I keep trying to find these mount things and they always say it's not ideal for big phones Frown

SD's fault.
pcmag dot com/picks/the-best-car-phone-mounts

I've got a VanMass on the way I found on Amazon Warehouse. The company does not play review games. IMHO, a $1K phone should not be attached to a mount that could fail.
Pricey, but I got it for 25% less. Has a battery backup and will not overcharge phones, unlike cheapies potentially will.

These stupid electric ones almost universally suck. Tried 3 now, went back to a manual one
