Been waiting for a budget mesh system. I have a basic off-brand mesh system that I use for my IoT devices. It sort of works, but lack IP reservation feature. Not to mention it uses WPA encryption which is flawed. I'll give this set a shot. Given the low traffic it shouldn't be a problem.

Can you provide link. I'm getting 89.99 on Amazon

Edit: charliefive edited their post right before my response. Disregard that.

This is a good price if you are going to use a wired backhaul.

If you're using a wireless backhaul (most people) this is penny wise and dollar foolish. Wait for another sale on the M9.

Doesn't matter what most people are doing, it only matters what the buyer is doing.

Is a mesh wifi the best way to extend wifi coverage in a home with a xfinity wifi router/modem all-in-one unit? Not sure if I should get an extender, buy our own modem, router or modem/router combo or one of these mesh systems. 5000 sq ft house.

Have this and it's big brother the M5. The M5 is our main router and has worked well for last 2-3year handling streaming TV and IoT devices.

The M3 is at a vacation rental. It's range isn't as good as the M5 (especially on the base stations), but for light-medium traffic it's perfectly fine. There we have a security cam, alexa, ring alarm, and a few TV's which will have streaming cable.

If you have a bunch of people in your house streaming video at once, maybe a video doorbell, and other IoT devices I would recommend the M5 or maybe an Eero. If you do just regular web stuff and watch netflix/hulu on a couple tv's at once the m3 would serve you well. I paid $90 for my M3 a few months ago.

Careful using TP-Link Deco mesh with Ring. Tons of reports of it bricking Ring devices suddenly if your power goes out and comes back on.

I thought the two extenders don't have Ethernet ports. So how would you use wired back haul? Or am I missing something here?
