S21 Ultra which was supposed to be delivered on 3/2 originally (ordered 2/15 with PM approved with Amazon) shipped 3/2 with Eta for delivery as 3/5. Got on chat with CS on 3/2 as soon as I got the shipment confirmation and shared the earlier chat id for reference. PM successfully requested and got the refund of 250 dollars in my credit card account today after 2 days. Once PM was credited got in touch with CS again for 10pct refund (had a diff approval). Rep requested the refund and told me it would be credited in 2 days from now. Not sure if I will get the second refund as I already got the 250 PM credited. Anyways worth the try.

Why even retail price it at high $ value when the phones go on sale from day 1 and nobody pays original price for it?

Because most people buy their phones subsidized by carriers not direct. When they do this the carriers can spread out the payment or jack up the service monthly cost to make up for it. So if some person pays $35 a month for 30 months at full price, then everyone wins. Also in some states it boosts sales tax revenue where you have to pay tax on the full retail (like CA). Not sure this is good for the carrier/Samsung, but I am sure there is some lobbying reason for it and the carrier can write down revenue at a higher mark.

I read that less than 10% of the people buy their phones outright, and this year S21 carrier deals have been very good. For me I do prepaid, so no soup for me-- I buy and sell my phones and save a ton.

Perhaps that is the perception (aginst the S20 series), but the 888 and the integrated modem is much better for 5G and the 888 is the first processor ever that will go under LTS for android updates. So a 4-5 year REAL update window is now not unheard of. This will impact your resale or if you hold the phone. This year they also use S21 adaptive OLED +LTPO which uses less power at 120 Hz rate, again lower power.

For me while the lack of SD slot is sort of lame, 256GB is enough for me and I actually prefer plastic because it is stronger and cheaper than glass and I put a case on it anyways. I think $700 for a high spec phone is much better than $1000 and Samsung threw in over $250 of free gear.

My order(placed on Feb 24) is shipped today and is on the way, but my credit card has not been charged, and I also have not received any email about the trade-in. Is this normal?

You need to contact Samsung CSR now and they will issue a reference number. You've to contact them again with the reference number when the phone shipped.

Not sure what to do, my wife's S21+ with 4 sets of galaxy pros for $470 (note 10 trade in) shipped but I reordered her the same phone but replaced the pros with one set of pros, a set of Buds plus and a s7+ 256gb tab for $650, we are selling the accessories from both to make up the cost. Do I just keep this order coming in or return this one and wait for the other one? Received a chat id for $250 price match on both

I have 3 different orders pending. I noticed when I placed my final order last night the tab s7 plus is no longer available to bundle. I ended up with an S21 plus, buds pro, and watch 3, S10e trade in for $327. I wanted an S21 but the gray was sold out and the potential PM discount was not as high. I also noticed that the S21 plus had a $100 discount right off the top. Unfortunately I could not get any referral code to work. I must have tried over 100 codes including the one I used on the other 2 orders - no luck. I still pulled the trigger though. FYI for those of you asking if you can PM more than one item - I have in writing from a chat that we can. I chatted to get a PM to BB on my first orders s7 plus:

ME - So I can price match both the tablet and the phone? There is no limitation on the number of price matches per order?

after you receive your samsung phone, you will get an email about how to ship your trade-in. regarding the credit card charge, I have no clue. my order from Feb. 25 hasn't been charged either, even the charge that was pending disappeared.

Thanks for the info! Just two hours after my post (and a couple of hours after the phone was tendered to FedEx), the charge of the phone was directly posted to my credit card without pending.
