GOOD PRICE FOR i9 10850k
10850k = 10900.

They are the same, except the 10850k is overclockable. At the current prices, everyone should buy the 10850k whether or not you can/will overclock because the resale value will be better and you save $2 today.
Such great price, even cheaper than MC, and you don't need to go to MC!

Still using i7 4770k also since 2013. But if gonna spend $700 for new CPU,Motherboard,Ram,Cooler i am gonna wait for Alder Lake 10nm on DDR5 memory it will be nice performance jump over current CPUs
Current leaked benchmarks don't show the alder lake i9 as all that far ahead of the 5900x. A little ahead, but more power hungry. Ddr5 is going to be expensive for another year at least.

If you need to upgrade I'd just do it personally. Unless you don't really need to upgrade then yeah wait.

Well I have a few theories why the 280 AIO works for you.

First most 280 AIO are rated below 200 watts and considering I was pulling 330 total for a extra 2 cores, its questionable your prime95 run was valid.

Either you didnt set it for full stress (maximum heat) or you didnt let it soak long enough (15 minutes or more).

Now Prime95 is only really for stability testing as no other reasonable scenario will put this much load on it. But im old school, if prime95 isnt possible due to heat, the cpu isnt stable.

realistically though, a 280 AIO fine fine for a stock 10900K if all your going to do is play games. Remember that those 2 extra cores is about 33 watts each. so 70 watts more when overclocked (for prime95) stability testing.

Picked one up but haven't built a PC in about 5 years. Anyone have some RAM pairing recommendations for the 10850?

I would highly recommend Crucial Ballistix. Either 3200 or 3600 speed. Intel is less picky with ram than AMD is but I only use Crucial ram as I never had an issue with it on either platform and the quality/price is great. Hope that helps.

I missed this great deal. Do you think will be seeing something similar on the next 2 weeks?
